This is the best Universal hotel in our opinion! The water taxi and bus service is superb and always available!! The club experience is worth the cost for food and beverage! We love the rooms and early park entrance! We will definitely be back!

underwhelmed!

This was our fourth stay at Portofino Bay, the last being in 2017. Since our last visit we noticed that the rooms had been redecorated and were extremely bland with little theming. The hotel corridors were always dirty with paper (or cotton buds!) strewn on the floor. Our room was not serviced on the third and last night. We made use of the Club lounge and again, since our last visit found this place has had some major works done, and it was not as comfortable as previously. The food and drink offerings in the lounge were good and possibly an improvement on before. The guest services and concierge were polite and helpful. As we had a very late flight it would have been great if they made a shower available (they offered the 'quiet pool' showers but the area was shut due to a storm, so of little use). I do not think we'll return again.
