The guesthouse is on the property as the owner, adding a feeling of safety. Knowing that even when we were out, the place was not unattended. While the owner's kept to themselves allowed us a feeling of isolation and quiet, it was good to know they were nearby in case we needed anything. The home is a short 13mi drive in to Nevada City for groceries, shopping, or dining. Looking out across a wooded valley from the deck was so peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely consider a future stay when we want to get away from the city.

Forest retreat just 10 minutes from Nevada City
I'm a hiker and birder so this little Hideaway was perfect. Quiet, surrounded by trees, magnificent deck with views of the mountains. Very dog friendly. Close to all kinds of trails and open space, yet just 10 to 15 minutes to town! Loved it! Just bring a hair dryer if you need one! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you!!!!!

Beautiful Sierra mountain overlook
The place is beautiful! A wonderful deck opens off the studio cabin, where a grill with a stove burner and some deck chairs are. Inside, a charming bed, sitting couch, deck, kitchenette, and bathroom with shower. Check in and out was seamless with a lockbox. The main house is on property if any issues arise (none did for us!). 5/5 would recommend

Peaceful cabin in the trees
We were just up in the mountains for a quick well-being getaway. Conveniently close to multiple small towns to explore and lovely nearby hikes to take with our young dog with wonderful peace and quiet to retreat to at the end of the day. We watched the sun coming over the hills from the deck in the morning. The house had everything we needed. Thank you!

Return stay for peace and beauty
We visited last winter and loved this place (and the area) so much that we returned for another getaway. It has a million dollar view, is very peaceful, comfortable, and clean. We were visited by hummingbirds when sitting out on the deck. Our dog Cricket enjoyed it too and felt welcomed by the dog bed and bowls. We'll be back.

Amazing hosts
The cozy cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We came for the mountain bike trails in the area and the cabin was the perfect staging grounds for our adventures. We enjoyed our coffee and tea on the deck in the morning. My partner unfortunately got injured while we were riding and the hosts gave us extra time to check out and even followed up after to ask if he was doing okay. We would love to return once he is healed!!

Lovely Sierra Getaway!
My husband and I wanted a relaxing place to unwind and celebrate our anniversary and this was just perfect. The property is close to Nevada City and Grass Valley, but feels much more remote. The tree house is amazing and I also enjoyed walking our dog along private trails on the property and public trails that are accessible right off the driveway. Holly and Nancy are gracious and attentive hosts. We definitely want to come back. The view from the back patio is amazing!

Cozy cabin in the woods
This was my partner and I’s first time visiting Nevada city. We were blown away by how beautiful the area is! Our cabin was lovely- Nancy gave clear instructions on how the house operated and gave good recommendations for food and activities in town. We had a great time.

Nancy and Holly are gracious hosts and their cottage is much roomier than what the photos show. Excellent location and very comfortable stay. Communication was prompt and clear. I highly recommend this lovely cottage
