We stayed here while hunting on the River. Beautiful place that was very clean and comfortable. Location was great for our needs.

Traffic- trains- biting false ladybugs

Welcome to false ladybug (biting) hell where trains and traffic take away from the serenity! Nothing is more fun than these biting, pooping (leaves stains & smell) and annoying bugs biting you at night or better yet ending up in your cpap tube!!! We called the property manager, sent over a very kind lady and she left us with. Vacuum cleaner- but also said it’s lady bug season. One would think they would make sure the windows were actually secure instead of ignoring the problem. Also no central air, window units. If you are looking for a good night’s rest nestled into Mother Nature, not going to happen. Did you forget your toiletries? Well, you’re in luck, look under the sink for the very expired products in a communal area - they’re so old the scent is gone and color is off. How about spices? These too are expired. Excited about sharing community condiments? Check the fridge because it wasn’t empty when we arrived. Nor, was all the food crumbs or hair. We all slept terribly because of the road traffic, trains, and false lady bugs biting us - however that did not detour us from enjoying some amazing fishing and weather. Sadly, as cute as this place is, none of us will be staying here ever again.

Great place with so many small details!

We loved staying here, the decor was cozy and fun and we had everything we needed. The trains went by more often than I originally expected but it wasn’t anything too annoying. We had a nice weekend as a family and would definitely stay here again in the future

We stayed again at the cabins. We were a bit surprised at the fee now associated with the third party business. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the stay but it might be out of our price range in the future. The location is prime and as always the trains are an adjustment as they were more frequent this time. Overall the places beautiful, location prime, and the owners are extremely accommodating.

Easy access cabin

Getting to this cabin is very easy, since it is just off of I 35! The quality of workmanship inside and the attention to details make this a great choice for a get away. The trains were distracting, but overall, it was a nice week!

The train kept rolling all night long

Great cabin, super clean. But getting any type of good nights sleep is non existent. The train goes by all night and day. All you hear and feel are the trains thundering by all night and day. It shakes the whole cabin!!! Seems like that should be mentioned in the listing. Others have voiced their concerns about the trains as well in the visitors log. If it wasn't for the trains it would have been fine.

Quick Weekend Stay

This was an adorable cabin on the inside, and it is well appointed with little extras you might not realize you need until you do. It is sandwiched between train tracks and a busy road, which is characteristic of cabins along the Mississippi River, so you will have noise. We enjoyed our stay, and the trains didn't bother us too much. This is a duplex, but the family of three next door were super friendly. You can hear a bit through walls, but not too much. The fire pit is shared, so this could be a positive or negative. There was a funky smell as we entered the cabin, but we could never pinpoint it's source. It only seemed to be an issue as we entered, not ongoing. Hmm.

Beautiful Cabin

The cabin was easy to find and incredibly clean. Household amenities provided and fantastic decor. Conveniently located for our needs. Spacious living spaces with comfortable beds and furniture. Would definitely stay again if on the area.

Yes, there are train rumbles and the highway is noisy, but the cabin was wonderful, clean, and we enjoyed the bonfire in the yard. With the air on, we didn't hear anything inside. Good location with restaurants down the road either way.

Spring time.

Very clean & easy to find. The host (Janet) made sure to communicate clearly about a road closure. Just a very quiet, relaxing spot with lots of hiking & outdoor fun, right on the mississippi.

Great cabin

The property was perfect for us (2 adults, 2 kids). We were visiting family for Thanksgiving and had to cook some of our dishes in the cabin to bring to the party, and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Ragbrai Weekend

Well. As out-of-towners, I didn't know the chaos that Ragbrai can cause. But, the good people of Lansing and Ferryville saved the day. Our party of six had a wonderful trip on the Mississippi. We ate out at a DeSota, WI restaurant and had a good meal. Our hosts were nice people who stopped by to help when the stove stopped working. No problem, they gave us charcoal and we had wonderful grilled meals. This property is near a railroad track. I have always loved the sound of trains but some of my friends didn't enjoy that. If your love the river and the beauty of river towns this is a great spot. Enjoy!

Wonderful place, decor and location!

We enjoyed the cabin very much. Clean and had everything we needed. No need to worry about train noise, it was actually cool and more of a low rumble & no whistle blowing! Close to many of the sites we wanted to see in all directions! We will rebook there again!

Quick Fall Getaway

Everything we needed for home base while we hiked, enjoyed fall foliage and visited area wineries. Our dog had a great time, too!
