We had to check in later than expected but the host was kind to offer extended check out or a free night. She was very kind and helpful in first part of stay. We couldn’t stay extra but accepted late check out. We had no trouble reaching her during the first few nights. The last 2 days, no response to text or phone call. We didn’t stay longer on the last day because I couldn’t confirm what time was acceptable to check out due to no return message. There were some issues with the home within the first couple of days, but the host did get it resolved. The location is nice but not ideal if bringing a boat.

Friends Getaway

Our group of 12 friends enjoyed a great weekend at the cabin. We took advantage of hikes nearby, the river, and firepits both nights. We had plenty of space and enjoyed the comfy beds and fun decor. The only critiques are that some of the amenities were not as stocked as we expected (low supply of bodywash in the downstairs shower, low supply of dish soap) and the kitchen was a little wonky in its layout, but nothing that negatively impacted our stay. Paula was delightful and easy to work with. Her adorable and friendly dogs were a huge bonus! Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view

Great stay for a family/friends group. Gorgeous view. Nice enclosed porch with hot tub. Older home but had modern updated appliances. Coffee pods were provided which was nice. The guys enjoyed doing some fishing as well. We were in town for the half Iron Man and enjoyed downtown Chattanooga area!

Beautiful location- wish we could have stayed longer

We came into town for our son’s wedding which took place at a farm in Whitwell. We loved this house on the river- it was so peaceful and serene. Each morning I went out on the deck and turned on my bird app- within minutes, it would have detected 10 species of birds! The house was spacious but cozy- plenty of space for our family. We were only in town for 3 days, but I would love to come back again to spend some time relaxing in this haven on the river!

90th Birthday Celebration

We had 11 people in our group including our 90 year father. The two bedrooms and a bath downstairs was convenient for those unable to climb the somewhat narrow steps. We prepared all of our meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Most of our time was spent out on the decks enjoying the beautiful view of the river and the landscape. Paula was the perfect hostess.

Great Thanksgiving Get Away

The family had a great time while we celebrated Thanksgiving together. The views from the property are spectacular. We knew the area and were able to find the property with little issues. However, if you are new to the area, you might find the property a little difficult to find. Don't worry it is worth the short though winding drive. The kitchen has very nice appliances but be careful with your fingers and the microwave. It got all of us at some point. The location of the downstairs bathroom is a little strange, but it worked. The biggest issue with the property is the way the bedrooms are situated. There is a large bedroom with basically two loft rooms attached. We had a little issue with this, but it worked out. If you have a lot of children, the large bedroom is ideal. We would consider staying thee again.

Nice views but some issues with house/host

The views were amazing off the back porch, especially in the Fall. The house had plenty of bedrooms to accommodate a large group, but it was quite dirty (dead and live bugs in many rooms, thick layers of dust), some rooms don't have working fans, and there is no cell phone service at all. It certainly felt more like camping than staying in a lake house, as we were encouraged to throw away used toilet paper (as opposed to flushing) and there were timers on the showers. Additionally, there were several issues with the host. I called/emailed several times to ask a question prior to the visit but received no response. When we got there, we realized the hot tub was broken, which the host was apparently aware of but hadn't told us. When we asked the host how we could fix it, she told us to Google it. This did not resolve the issue and we could not use that amenity. To her credit, she was nice to our dogs. Overall, we had a good time, but I would bet there are nicer places to stay in the area.

lovely spot - just as described

the house easily accomodated our diverse crew from the toddlers all the way up to the grandparents. Check in was smooth and the house was just as described - fun to sit out on the porch and watch the barges roll by.

Rowing Club Getaway

Property was in the perfect setting, right on the river! Had everything for our group to come and go for the weekend while attending a regatta. Floors and carpets were a bit dirty like it was not vacuumed in sometime. Everything else was wonderful!

Classic Family Friendly Cabin Home

We had an incredible stay at this charming house that felt straight out of a '90s movie! It was the perfect fit for our three families, with plenty of space for the kids to enjoy the outdoors. From sun up to sun down, they fished and played outside, making the most of the beautiful setting. The living room was ideal for cozy family nights, and the large modern kitchen was a dream for preparing meals together. The owner was precious and made everything super clear and easy. We highly recommend this spot and will definitely rebook if we’re ever back in Chattanooga!

Girls' Getaway

Eight teacher friends spent the weekend by the river. We had plenty of space to spread out, yet we also had ample space to congregate! The view of the river was so relaxing and beautiful. The owner lives next door, and she was very accommodating. She has done a terrific job with all of the landscaping. Everything outside was so pretty and peaceful. I will mention the stairs going to the bedrooms upstairs. They are fine for the mobile, but older folks might struggle. The good news is two bedrooms and a full bathroom are on the main floor. The house is close to downtown, and it was a quick, easy drive to get there. We had a terrific time in Chattanooga.

Nice Family Friendly House

It was a wonderful house. Everything was clean and just as expected. We had plenty of room for our group of 9. Should be noted that the hot tub is only available in winter and the AC in the loft says only use during night hours.

Great home for our cousin's reunion! Home was clean and as advertised. Host was quick to reply to any questions. Area was close enough to Chattanooga to get there quickly, but far enough from town to be quiet and peaceful.

Gorgeous view on the river, could use more lighting in the kitchen and family room, not enough bathrooms for all the bedrooms. The place was very clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Could use a good airing out

The home is in need of some minor repairs. Seems the home hasn’t been used for several months when we stayed. Therefore it had a bad smell about it and we had to use scented candles the whole stay. The grill was nasty and no gas to use it. The wooden chairs by the river were in need of replacing. The fire pit was full of trash that was previously burned. I emailed the property manager but no return email even to this day which I’m not happy with.

Family Reunion

Lots of great things about this property. Loved the cabin feel and amount of bedrooms. Absolutely loved the back deck and upstairs porch!! Plenty of hot water!! Coffee pot combo has inspired us to purchase one just like it. Loved the large mugs and glassware in the house!! Perfect spot for 9 people to comfortably come together. Grateful for communication with host. Host allowed us to do family photos on site, which worked out amazing. Quick to answer questions and address concerns. Only issues were “lipstick and rouge” issues. We know house was right up by river, but the house could really use a good airing out (musty smell). Lighting was dark in parts of house. Ripped screens on upstairs porch and peeling wallpaper in parts of house. Stairs took some getting used to. All that being said, we would stay again (in warm months) just for the back deck and the views!!! Breathtaking is an understatement!! We spent most of our time on that back deck!!

Worst VRBO Rental EVER - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I’ll hit the character limit, if there is one, before I can completely list all of the BS myself and my family have dealt with through this reservation/owner and the trip itself. - I was disappointed to see that VRBO didn’t advertise in this listing that a management company would handle the listing (Evolve). VRBO/the homeowner essentially lied in the listing by withholding that information - this was a birthday celebration reservation and VRBO, Paula, and EVOLVE effectively ruined those birthdays being celebrated along with ruining our family trip - the first night we’re there, a big storm rolls through. There are leaks throughout the house because of the amount of rain that fell, and because of the lack of upkeep on the property by the homeowner Paula. Some of our personal items got soaked from this which resulted in those family members having awful stinky clothing to wear on the remainder of the trip because….there was also no power from the storm! The power went out early Thursday morning. So now we couldn’t shower, couldn’t flush the toilet due to signs put up by the homeowner, couldn’t warm food, and couldn’t dry our wet clothes that got soaked in their suitcases from excess water pushing through the exterior walls of the home - the stairs in this home are no where near code and resulted in every family member tripping going up and down the stairs. Some of those individuals that tripped were elderly - WAY MORE OCCURRED HERE but I hit the character limit

Great family reunion

We gathered here to rally around a sick family member. We hadn’t all been together in 12 years. This home surpassed what we had hoped it would be. Large is understatement. View is awesome. Well equipped kitchen. Host was so personable. We made happy memories!

Cozy and huge with a great view

We loved staying here! The view was unforgettable, hot tub/sun room were a fave. We came with a large group and there was plenty of space and a huge couch. Paula was a great host!!
