Great location for going to Northstar with a shuttle that picks you up in the condos parking lot. The place itself was comfortable but could stand some good top to bottom cleaning and handy person attention. Couple light switches didn’t turn any fixtures on, few cobwebs here and there. Bed was comfy with ample pillows. The main bummer was that we really wanted a place with a hot tub and this one advertised it had one. It failed to mention that it is not on site and that you have to pay extra for it ($12) It is up the hill (car ride or shuttle) in the rec center. We never made it there so I can’t say anything about the quality. Great location and comfy enough but the hot tub issue made it so that we won’t stay there again.

Avoid This Condo – Dirty, Poorly Maintained, and Unresponsive Management

We regret booking this condo due to its unacceptable cleanliness and lack of essential amenities. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed serious issues:•Dirty and Unsanitary Conditions: The sheets were stained and had hair and crumbs in them. We also found rat droppings in drawers and inside the sofa bed. The guest bathroom was completely unusable due to black mold in the shower.•Pest Problems: Within minutes of arriving, we killed three spiders in a web on the kitchen counter. This, combined with the rodent droppings, made it clear the condo had not been properly cleaned or maintained.•Minimal Kitchen Supplies: The kitchen was barely stocked with the essentials and filthy drawers, making meal preparation inconvenient. Dishwasher had standing water and dried, crusty soap dispenser. •Lack of Responsiveness: I called the evening of our arrival to report these issues and my concerns requesting to be moved immediately, and by the following morning, they still couldn’t give me a timeframe for assistance. At 5 PM the next day—nearly 24 hours later—they finally dropped off one set of sheets, despite my request for two. In the end, I had to spend my own time washing stained bedding and cleaning up rat droppings just to make the place livable.For the price we paid, this experience was completely unacceptable. I strongly advise others to avoid this rental until the owner takes serious steps to improve cleanliness, pest control, and guest services.

Silver Strike @ Northstar

The location, the atmosphere, the standard amenities, and the process of renting was excellent. It’s close enough to Lake Tahoe and truckee township to be convenient but far enough away to be blissfully quiet. It was in fact very clean and the people are all very friendly. The only issues we had was there is no air conditioning but box fans were provided. Only issue there is the tv volume isn’t loud enough to hear over the roar of the fans. The kitchen refrigerator and freezer didn’t get cold enough at all. The ice was melting by the end of our 4 day stay and the oven wouldn’t light. When I texted the number I was provided for contact I was told to light it with a lighter which was provided but it still wouldn’t work.

Ideal location and a great value!

Our second time staying at this property was even better than the first. It really feels like home for us. The location is beautiful and peaceful, backing up against the forest and creek, and feels very private. The amenities are more than adequate, and the home is quiet and cozy. Communication and service from Vrbo are always excellent and we feel very confident with our bookings. Highly recommended!

Not too happy, can’t use BBQ and the oven is not working. Didn’t get Air Fryer 2 days later. The Fireplace is not working and didn’t get fixed til the night before we leave next day

Great location, spacious living area

Great location. Walking distance to Northstar village or a quick shuttle ride. Shuttle stop is 1-2 minutes walk from the front door. Plenty of space in the upstairs living area.

Condo needs cleaning

Last year we stayed here and was fine this year the condo was dirty and the carpet was dirty and smelled of bad dog urine. The carpet was also ripped up in one of the bedrooms and it did not allow you to close the door.

Vacasa is Worthless

Vacasa should not be in the business of property management. We booked a unit specifically with a washer/dryer. Note on washer from March - over 2 months ago that it was broken. Tried calling Vacasa to get it fixed, said would contact local maintenance but no one ever showed up. Continued to only offer “apologies” and then lied and said it was working. We tried multiple times to use the washer and it never filled with water. Tried calling again and completely incompetent lazy staff. Texting also warranted zero help. Also sent pictures of lack of cleanliness - mold in showers, dirty closets, cobwebs, stained bedding. Zero response. For hundreds of dollars in fees it is not unreasonable to expect a clean unit and working appliancesp which are in the listing. I will never recommend Vacasa and will never stay in a Vacasa “managed” unit again. No idea how this incompetence continues to manage properties.

Great location and amenities

Great location and convenience to ski at Northstar. The shuttle service and ski-in accessibility was excellent and the property was nice and quiet! We communicated with Vacasa directly twice with success (front light was out). The only negatives were the heat was very loud and the beds were quite soft. Would stay here again.
