Was a beautiful property. House had everything and more! Tried to contact hist for early arrival. No response. Had trouble finding wifi info and contacted host. No response. Wheleaving i could not find key code

Potential but Terrible Communication

The house was completely filthy when we arrived because it had not been communicated to the owner that it had been rented. General dirt to personal affects left around urine in & on the toilet seat (that we discovered after our daughter sat in it) for example. There was no internet information as per the check in email. The rep from Evolve was unreachable & the main office instructed us to contact VRBO. We brought food for the week & left our perishables in the fridge while we left to find reception to work this out. Left for the night & our food. Later discovered that some had been stolen while we were gone. The owner got in touch with us the next day & scheduled cleaners. We could go back but the house would not be ready until 5:30 (1.5 hrs after check in). The owner offered to extend our stay & compensate us appropriately. We found out late in the week that our stay was NOT extended nor could we have a late check out because Evolve booked it. We were never compensated for the food that was taken nor for meals we had to eat out while we waited for the house to be cleaned. The house is good. Fun for the kids in the game room. A personal toothbrush and razor were left on the counter & all the drawers were filled & not labeled. The path to the river was overgrown & there were tall reeds at the bank making it impossible to set up chairs (bring your own. None are provided). There was a wire fence down along the side of the house. Be careful with young children or pets.

Truckee River House

Cute house with a great location. Centrally located between Tahoe City and Truckee. Comfortable house for a family of 4. Upper level with pool table, huge tv and recliner sofa was a huge bonus. Would have been nice if there was a sitting area near the river or furniture on the back patio.
