The hotel is right down the street from a super cute area of St. Louis- lots of really great restaurants, pretty clean. It's in a nice location, pretty close to major areas and attractions. The hotel is so comfortable and the staff are super accommodating. Would recommend to anyone new to St. Louis.

New Years eve

My stay was great I only wish the staff could do better at getting people checked in and out quicker. There were 3 people in life e getting checked in including myself and I waited 20mins before I got to the desk. Maybe the hold was the employee not knowing their job or what but ya very slow

Hello and thank you for the feedback. Over that entire weekend our corporate office had just installed a new credit card processor at our front desk. Our staff was trying to understand the new system which did delay check in. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you again and Happy New Year!

Not enough info.

The garage parking was a nightmare. No directions. Didn't know I had to pay. Credit card had a deposit that I wasn't told about. Thought they wanted proof of who I was.

Hello and thank you for the feedback. It is listed on our website that there is a fee to park like most hotels. However, our parking is only $7 per night with in/out access. The garage is not owned , managed or operated by the hotel. Like all hotels we have a $25 charge for incidentals per night. if a guest does not have any incidentals we release these funds on our end. Each bank or credit card company then has their time frame of when they credit their customer back. This is standard Hotel procedure for all hotels. We do need proof of who is checking into our facility, again this is the procedure for all hotels. Thank you again for your comments and I hope that my response assists you when you travel in the future, you will then know what to expect. Enjoy the Holiday!

The Hotel is undergoing renovations at present.

Location: Joins Washington University Physicians, and Barnes and Children's Hospitals. Tunnels connecting all facilities. Applebee's in the lobby.
The new rooms are beautiful! Staff is very helpful, there us a shuttle that will help with certain areas, especially back and forth to Barnes & Children's Hospitals. This visit, we had several individuals asking for money, two in front of the Parkway but one stopped me in the parking garage about 9:30. I felt very threatened and didn't even have a wallet with me. Security took the report trying to find very the individual in the parking garage.

. Thank you for your positive comments regarding our newly renovated guestrooms, our shuttle service and our helpful staff. We are getting wonderful feedback regarding our NEW, upscale, modern, sleek look. We are sorry that you had to experience panhandling. Unfortunately all cities do have their share of this and these individuals just ask for change and move along. The garage is owned, operated and managed by the hospital next door the hotel rents spots. Our Hotel security personal are very good with moving the panhandlers along. Thank you again for your comments and we hope you have enjoyable upcoming Holiday season.

Decent Hotel but a little pricey

Pros: Staff was very friendly, bed was comfortable, good location
Cons: The bathroom was a little dirty, the Iron didn't work correctly, price was a little expensive.
Location: Central West End is one of STL's bar/restaurant hubs
I stayed at this hotel for a friend's wedding. The staff was very friendly but after a long travel day, I needed to iron my suit and the iron did not work.

Hello Eric and thank you for the review. I hope you had a moment to called our front desk to have them replace the iron for a working one. Due to your note, we are having our housekeeping department check all of the irons in all 217 of our guestrooms. We take each review seriously and we need to ensure our irons are working. We hope you will select the Parkway Hotel for a future visit. We expect the remodel of our guestrooms to be completed before the end of 2016. They will have the NEW LOOK of our beautiful lobby. Enjoy the day and wishing you safe travels.

2 days of hassle

When we checked in, we were given keys to the wrong room.  After getting the correct room, I was told I would have to checkout in the morning and check back in since I added on a second night to our initial reservation.  So, the next morning, in a rush to visit parents in Barnes Hospital, we were delayed 15 minutes because the guy working didn't understand what was going on.  He checked us into a new room and then when I corrected him he didn't know how to change the room back to the room we were already in.  I told him we needed to leave and said I would come back. Mistake.  After eating a quick breakfast and heading to Barnes, I stopped and asked him if everything was good to go. He said we were good and didn't need keys reissued since we were already staying in the room.   After a long day at Barnes, we walk back to the hotel and can't get in. Had to call and wait for security to let us in.  We go to our room, and our keys don't work for our room either. I had to go downstairs and make them understand why my keys wouldn't work.  I finally got correct keys and go to our room only to find that nothing had been cleaned. We had no fresh towels for the next day.  I called the front desk and 30 minutes later they arrived.  Anytime we ever had to call the front desk (which was multiple times) the phone rang at least 20 times before someone would answer.  Are they understaffed? Are the staff not trained?  The only thing I liked about this hotel was its location. It was convenient to be able to walk to Barnes without having to go outside in the cold weather.  And did I mention how unclean the bathroom was?  Gross curly hair hanging underneath the sink and an unclean shower.

Great location, but not without issues

This is the second stay at the Parkway in the past 3 months. The first was to meet up with a friend and went well (although dozens of partying frat students were hauled out of the hotel by police). The second stay was a little different. My reservation was for a room with two beds, but they only had single bed available. No problem, I was told, as they would upgrade me to a deluxe king which included a hide-away bed in the couch. But there was no such hide-away. I informed the front desk before going to dinner and with a big sigh he told me that they would bring a roll-away. We returned late and found no roll-away. I called the front desk and 10 minutes later a very angry security guard showed up at my door with a roll-away. When I opened the door, he tersely asked, "When did you ask for this?" and, "The last guy should have brought this up." His anger led to me saying, "I'm sorry," to which he turned away (leaving the roll-away) angrily mumbling, "All right," under his breath. Why was he accepting my apology for their mistakes?? I also found the shuttle service to be stressful. The driver is rushed and flustered and pickup occurred 30-45 minutes later than they said. And we were only a few minutes away at the zoo (which because of St. Louis' poor city planning cannot be reached by foot). Wi-fi is not available in the rooms, only in the lobby. I hadn't realized this on my first (pleasure) trip, but it was an issue on the second (business) trip. Come on! Buy a few routers, already! The reason for choosing the Parkway was location (which is great) and the shuttle (no need for a vehicle). If I had a vehicle, I certainly wouldn't choose this hotel; and, even if I didn't, I think the lack of in-room wifi would steer me to a competitor.
