I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Pros: The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay.
Cons: The rooms need major improvement - too many broken or missing objects and noisy.
Location: I was informed that the location was dangerous and not to go outside my room alone in the evening.
My room was missing a refrigerator and the door had been broken into previously and not fixed properly. They gave me another room with other problems. Horrible refrigerator, no lights in the bathroom and mirror not hung up on the wall. I would not recommend this hotel and feel I should be compensated in some way for all the problems I dealt with.

Unlockable, cold water and filthy bed

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
At first glance my room was fine.... then I went to go to dinner to find the door did not lock. I informed the desk clerk who proceeded to make an attempt to show that it did lock, in which he failed. I told him I would take my valuables with me and we would figure it out when I returned from dinner. He could not fix the issue and offered me a 10% discount and told me I could "lock the room from the inside". After further instance, he increased the discount to 15%... A whole $24. He informed that he could give me 100% refund if I wanted to stay elsewhere. Having past experience in last minute bookings in the Bay Area I did not want to undertake that after a 500 mile dirve so I bit the bullet. Then I discovered hairs in the bed sheets... and in the morning found that there was no hot water and the tub wouldn't drain. After my cold shower I went down to the office and expressed my grievances and was offered another 15% (I did get the discount from the night before on a printed receipt)... the clerk then proceeded to print me a new receipt at my instance that was an exact copy of the one I had received the night before. At this point, I have become expressively angry. This resulted in a $50 refund on top of my "discount". I would suggest you avoid this dump at all costs. Did I mention the late night screaming of profanity and the passing train? The tiny parking lot and the clientele that looked like freshly released prison inmates? You'll sleep better in your car.

What Happened Here?

We checked in and the clerk was polite and helpful. We we went to our room I was horrified to find it smelled of smoke! I called it to the attention of the clerk. He offered to spray the room. While standing in the doorway waiting, I counted 7 roaches in the bathroom Anna hallway. I then explained to the clerk that I would be unable to stay. He offered to refund our room charges, there were no other rooms available. He stated that I had requested smoking on my reservation, but I checked and it clearly stated non-smoking. I was without a place to stay at 11:30 pm. I checked Travelocity's website and there were no rooms available. I called customer service and the young lady saved the day. She rebooked in a nearby location which was very nice, clean, and comfortable. What an experience!

Drop this Hotel

Pros: There is parking.
I expect a certain level of quality when I book a Days Inn Hotel. However, Days Inn San Jose Convention Center was significantly below any expectations and is not sufficient. My room had a broken smoke detector ripped from the wall with exposed wires, a broken window screen, missing light bulbs, no iron, no coffee machine, a cot being stored in the room, crooked bed, ripped chair upholstery from end to end, and a view of what appeared to be a hotel dump space (including dirty mattresses and toilets). I asked for a refund. The front desk manager refused and put me in a second room. The second room had an exposed bathroom fan with no cover, no iron, no ironing board, no hair drier, no coffee, large wall patches with mismatched paint, a mirror on the floor, storage marked refrigerator with no refrigerator, no toilet paper roll, severely stained chair upholstery, and crooked furniture (including credenza storage and wall pictures). The front desk manager gave me a hair drier and iron upon request. The second room also had a sidewalk right outside the large window, so at one point a man was about a foot from the glass looking into my room. It was obvious they had cannibalized rooms to supply other rooms. I took photo documentation of the larger problems.

This place is a Flop House

Pros: Nothing!!!
Cons: The only way to improve the place would be to tear it down.
Location: This is a rundown area. The average traveler will find little recreation here.
As soon as I saw the motel I started to regret choosing it. The landscaping was either overgrown or dead, the parking lot was dirty and the walkways were filthy. My room was a joke. The threshold had three different colors of paint drippings, the backside of the door had several holes in it that looked like someone had randomly pounded nails into it. There were other holes in the door that appeared to have been used for locking mechanisms that had been moved to another place on the door. There were bare wires in various spots. The furnishings were beyond belief. Every piece appeared to have been rescued from a dump. Some pieces had random decals covering holes or scratches, others were just beat up. The bed was a king, but I could never find a comfortable spot among its various mounds and ruts. The TV hadn't been upgraded since the place was opened. There was rust around the drain in the bathroom, and the shower curtain rod wasn't hung properly, so the curtain sagged to the middle causing water to pool on the floor. The view from the window looked onto an area the was used to store, or dump stuff, it was an eyesore. The breakfast was, at best, extremely minimal, with 2 cold cereals and one hot, coffee, juice, and a sweet roll. There was no fruit, no yogurt, no bread or any kind, much less a toaster and virtually no place to sit. DO NOT STAY HERE

Front office staff are good but room service is limited. They contract out room service so it ends around noon.

Pros: Close restaurants, good parking
Cons: slow internet, no room service staff onsite
It's okay for the price. The location is convenience because it's close to KFC, 7-11, and the plaza which has market, liquor and many Vietnamese and Mexican restaurants.

This is the Worst Days Inn I have ever stayed at.

Pros: Quiet
We arrieved at the motel to check in and the process went smooth (plus)... I was told at confirmation that we would have a room with a microwave and a fridge... we had neither one.. when I asked about it I was told that sometimes it works out that way and sometimes not... The motel has a pool and spa, was informed that these would be heated! The spa was barely luke warm and did not work properly!! and the pool was no more warm than jumping into an ice bath... When asking for towels for the pool we were told to use the towels in the room, when I said that I would then need towels for the room so we could shower I was informed that they could not do that, they give 4 towels to rooms with double beds and 2 towels to rooms with 1 bed.... Meanwhile I was registered to a single bed with 3 people and we were never given the 3rd towel or towels for the pool!!! The room was clean, however small things like the coffee pot , lamps and drawers did not work properly.. This is not a motel that I will be returning to it is also not a motel that I would recommend to anyone!!!
