BOOK IF ON A BARGAIN.

Pros: LOCATION.
Cons: the rooms mainly.
Location: Right near walk of fame, and wax museum.
My room looked nothing like displayed, i was place in a corner with little to no light in the room, there were always noise as i was close to the pool area and hotel club downstairs, even though i was on the 6th floor, difficult to sleep at times due to noise. its comfortable enough if your rarely in hotel as i was, DO NOT ORDER ROOM SERVICE FROM THE HOTEL DOWNSTAIRS, just go outside, its over price and not very good, salad was salted and onion rings were drain in oil and salted i sent it back and still they charged me for it. hotel is a bit out dated, no sense in decor to give comfort in. This is strictly for those who want to be in a tourist area as everything is close by to visit.

Birthday Night Staycation

Had a lovely young lady at check-in, Bryce. After that, the rest of the interaction with the hotel staff was not extremely pleasant, with the exception of David at The Library Bar. Dining experience at The Public Bar & Restaurant was mediocre. Service was nice, but I wouldn't recommend the food. However, they did surprise me with a birthday dessert, which was a nice touch. Be careful not to linger in The Lobby, unless you are prepared to buy their food or a cocktail for breakfast, because apparently they have a policy that you must be spending money at their hotel or currently staying, not waiting for your ride home, while relaxing in the beautiful lobby. I've always loved this hotel for its historical beauty, but I'm getting turned off staying here because they are becoming a bit too elitist even for L.A. They are scratching to hang on to their reputation as a "hot spot" and it is ruining the true value of this place.

Hollywood's best!

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Recent upgrades have made it absolutely perfect.
Location: Freeway close, coffee options and In-N-Out within a 3 minute walk, and Uber-friendly.
We've spent more than 40 nights in this hotel in the past 2 years.... it's the only place I'll stay in L.A. Incredible bar scene, more history than you can possible ingest, and a classic Hollywood vibe. It's pricey, but worth every penny.

Second Class Arrangements

Pros: Location. History
Cons: See above!
I took advantage of a "Travelocity Deal". Great price at the Roosevelt, a hotel I had stayed at before, and enjoyed. I decided to upgrade to a "Cabana" room, assuming it meant a poolside room. This was not the case. At the price point, I was disappointed but not shocked. I do wish the cabana's physical location had been better explained, as I would have not upgraded, and since it was a package...I couldn't change. But here's the rub. I felt they threw me in an "off market" (a room that has issues and should not be used by a paying customer). As I readied for bed the first night I tried in vain to find a wall outlet to charge my computer and iPhone. They were readily available BUT FEW WORKED. Light bulbs were out in multiple lamps, and the TV had a horrible screen flicker. On the patio was a lounging bed. The frame had HUGE spider web systems all over it. Like they had been there for sometime. This is Black Widow country. So the patio bed was off limits. So much for the upgrade. The next morning, I went to take my shower only to be greeted by a drain cover that was just sitting in the bottom of the shower, no where near the actual drain, AND....this was the kicker....only HOT WATER. Yep, took a scalding hot shower, it was miserable. Now....I did call and report everything (except TV, I forgot to tell them about that), and the plumbing issues were repaired. BUT...not the outlets or all the bulbs or the spiders.

The room felt a little cold to me because of the minimalist, modern decor, but overall very nice.

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet, only has valet which is $33/day
Overall, the amenities were very nice, including the Keurig coffeemaker and toiletries. One of the two elevators was broken, so it took a very long time to get to my room when I checked in.

This hotel was not worth the money

Cons: No free Internet, can't bring alcohol to your room
Stayed at the Roosevelt because the Loews (formerly Renaissance) was booked - the room was small - had a large closet but tiny bathroom - would rather have small closet and large bathroom - also the hotel has a policy that you can't bring alcohol to your room - I would not stay at this hotel again.
