We had to wait over 2 hrs for our room to be available at check-in. We were offered free breakfast for the 2 mornings. Once we got into our room, it smelled heavily of smoke. Hotel staff “freshened” it up with some spray while we were in it but our room smelled like smoke for our whole stay.

The following items would make the room more user friendly and safer. 1) please put grab bars in the shower. The floors are very slippery when wet and this makes the shower dangerous. 2) please have a full length mirror in every room. I was really shocked that there was no way to check how my outfit looked head to toe anywhere. 3) it would be nice if restaurant staff reminded customers that there is a step down from the booths. I was impressed by the number of electric outlets we could reach and all of the other charging outlets available. The bed was very comfortable. Every encounter with your staff was excellent. They are friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant was good. The panty had a good assortment of snacks and beverages for late night noshing.

The smoothest hotel experience I've had.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I made an error booking a single king bed when I needed two queens and the receptionist quickly and kindly found another room and welcomed us with a glass of champagne. The valet staff were friendly when we'd come in and out of the hotel always greeting us. They also let us extend our stay a couple of hours extra since we had a late flight. Would definatley book again.

Beverly Hills Marriott

Good location, nice hotel with great service. My only issue is the charge for parking. Just because you can charge $39+ per day doesn't mean it's justified.

Overpriced hotel with good location.

Pros: The hotel appeared to have a nice bar in the lobby, though I got in late and did not use it. The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: The price for parking should be much lower. Breakfast should be included in the price of the room.
Location: Lots of community coffee shops in the area, as well as Universal Studios, Griffith Park and the Hollywood walk of fame.
I was looking for a hotel near Universal Studios and the Griffith Observatory. This hotel was close to both but a little more expensive than I am used to paying. The first issue I had upon arriving was that it was valet parking only. I did not see that written anywhere on the website, as I prefer to drive and park my own vehicle; you do not have the option. Secondly, it is a large hotel and had only two employees working the front desk. It probably took a good ten minutes to check in around 8pm on a week night. The room was small and the walls are thin. I could clearly hear the television in the next room over. I was on the 4th floor though the noise from the street was very loud. The curtains were thin so any light could not be blocked out. Also, for the high price of the room, I expected at least coffee and muffins in the morning would be complimentary; negative. Breakfast was over $20/person. The one positive I will say, is that the bed was very comfortable. I almost forgot, I had to wait about ten minutes to get my car so I could leave in the morning.

Disappointing stay in LA

This hotel is not well maintained or managed. We arrived around 5 pm and were given a room with one bed. I told the desk clerk I reserved 2 beds and he said they didn't have any. I showed my reservation (made over a month ago) for 2 beds, he claimed that they got the wrong information, the reservation could not be cancelled or changed, and the best he could do was put a rollaway in the room. He did not apologize but after I complained, he gave me 3 coupons for a free breakfast. The breakfast was a nice spread but the hot food was cold and we already finished eating before the server came around to ask if we wanted anything to drink. The main floor of the hotel was nice but the floor where our rooms were had two broken lamps (and broken glass) on the ground outside the elevator along with a dirty cart full of tools and trash. I thought maybe it was a temporary mess while something was being fixed but the lamps were still sitting there the next morning. Our room was clean but the carpet in the hallway clearly had not been vacuumed. Finally, the parking situation is not as advertised. According to the website, the self-parking fee is $26.40. When I pulled into the garage, we were told to valet instead of self-park "for the same price" (advertised at the garage as $28). Since I didn't have tip money, I asked to self-park. On my receipt the next day, I saw that I was charged $30.80. I know its not a huge difference but irritating nonetheless.
