I'd stay again

What a great place. We stayed here for our anniversary in January. Great staff. Really, they were all GREAT. Upon checking in we were upgraded to a suite. Not sure why. I do appreciate it though. I cannot say enough about how great all the staff was. Resort was clean a very well maintained. Quiet and clean. It is an older location. They have done a great job with updating. In the end it is still an older resort. If you need all new buildings you will not be happy here. If you want a nice resort in the BEST location with a fabulous staff, then this place is for you.

Great location on Mission Bay

A rough start. First room was in need of some maintenance and was in a not-so-ideal location. Staff was very attentive and let us switch rooms with no problem. Second room was much better. Food was good, but expensive. Concierge and front desk staff were absolutely the best. Very helpful and understanding. Cannot say enough about them.

Our stay at Bahia Resort Hotel

Pros: Everything was great. See above. We would definitely stay there again.
Location: Great location, near the bay, walking distance to the beach, shops and rides. Easy access to highways to get to San Diego's main attractions
Everyone at the hotel was wonderful and helpful. Excellent staff members who come to mind are Michaela, who helped us on the phone before our stay; Aaron, who checked us in and was very accommodating, and Jacob, who throughout our stay was helpful and friendly. And the staff surprised us with an anniversary treat! The place is just what we had hoped for. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The hotel is right near the bay, a short walk to the beach and centrally located to easily get to San Diego's attractions. The pool was good and large enough to do laps. The hot tub was spacious, which was helpful because many guests were sharing it at the same time!

Nice hotel location by marina.

I loved the location and set up of the room. The hotel could do some upgrades to the couches and carpet. Overall stay very nice!

Nice location but this place is OLD!

Pros: Pool and location proximity to Sea World, Beaches, and Old Town
Cons: The hotel needs a huge renovation
Location: Great location that is close to beaches, sea world, and Old Town
Terrific location between Ocean Beach and Mission Beach... However, the location is pretty much the only good thing about this place. The rooms are very old and damp. In fact, our room smelled like mildew. The AC is the old style that's not even controlled by a wall thermostat, so only one corner of our room would cool down. Another problem with our room was that it was in the very back of the complex and behind us was a public parking lot and beach are where homeless people were living. We did not eat at the onsite restaurant because we wanted to spend as little time here as possible. I will say that the hotel pool is nice.

Hotel on Mission Bay walk to Belmont Park

Pros: We liked the pool and jacuzzi and the close proximity to the beach and bay. The evening boat trip around the bay to the sister hotel was fun and free!
Cons: The hotel is showing its age, but that is the charm of it too :) At least there are flat screen tvs :)
Location: Bay-right there! Beach a short 2 block walk! Belmont Park with rides, arcade, and attractions (LazerTag, LazerMaze, etc.) You can bike, SUP, sail, etc
This hotel is directly on the beach on Mission Bay. We stayed in a Garden room. It was just across the driveway to the beach. The room had double beds and had a sliding glass door out to the garden area which lead to the pool. Kids loved the pool as it is 10 feet at the deep end! We loved it to. It was very clean and the chairs around the pool were comfortable. There are lots of tropical trees around, so it makes it very enjoyable. The Jacuzzi was the largest we have ever seen and it was nice and hot too! Pool is open until 11:00, so if you go to SeaWorld or Belmont Park you can still come home and hit the pool! Nice. The hotel is just a short walk to the beach and to Belmont Park. We had a Groupon and Belmont Park was so much fun! We ended up doing the Flowrider for an hour which is a large body/surfboard activity on the boardwalk by the beach!

40th Birthday getaway

The staff was amazing, we were upgraded to a bay view room at no extra cost, the hotel is beautiful the breakfast was excellent and everything is walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. We are definitely staying there again I have two boys they loved it, we went paddle boarding, kayaking all offered by the hotel at great prices, we didn't want to leave but we now know where to go for a great stay. Thank you Bahia staff for making us feel welcome and making out stay amazing, had the best birthday ever!! ❤️

Needs Some Renovations and Better Air Flow

Pros: The location near nice beaches.
Cons: Suites need some renovations and better air flow.
Location: The "private" beach is just a short walk away. The main ocean beach and Belmont Park Beachfront Amusement are just a 15 minute walk away.
Stayed for a week in August in a Bay View Suite with 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 2 and 4). The room was decent but we were expecting a much nicer facility based on the price we paid. This place is definitly dated and could use some renovations. The carpet was old and worn, the bathroom floor tile was very old and cracked, the sofa was sagging and the walls/celing was stained and yellowed. The view was very good and we could easily watch the 5 minute fireworks display every night across the bay. The "private'' beach was just around the building and is good for little kids. The public can access the beach but most will probably head towards the ocean side so it was never crowded. The suite had 1 a/c unit attached to the main area next to the patio door. The enclosed room was on the opposite side and did not have any ventilation. This room will get hot during the day as the sun shines on it. We got a suite so the kids could take a nap if needed but it just got too hot with the door closed. It definitely needs its own a/c or some kind of air flow. At night it was bearable but still too warm for our liking There is a good amount of parking but if it is busy, you will have to do some walking. Wi-fi was not reliable throughout. Also, many of the activities were overpriced so we did not attend the beach party or luau. The location was nice but it was not enough to justify the premium price. Pros: Location. Cons: Uncomfortable rooms, spotty wi-fi, price!
