We booked a last minute reservation at The George due to a power outage at our home (we are local), and they were able to accommodate my family and our two dogs quickly and seamlessly. The check in was quick and easy, my teenager LOVED the candy closet on the first floor, and our room was blessedly cool and comfortable. When we had an issue with the television, the staff member instantly arrived and resolved the issue. While we didn't take advantage of the offered breakfast, we will be sure to do so next time.

I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my experience staying here. From the moment we arrived, I was touched by the warmth of everyone working here — kind, gracious, and effortlessly elegant. The lobby is tastefully decorated, and the surrounding streets are just as beautiful. We were given a room with thoughtful care — peaceful, full of natural light, and with lush greenery outside the window. At breakfast, I was delighted to find a grapefruit spoon, organic honey, and hazelnut chocolate spread — all the little things I love, as if the universe was gently looking out for me c: This was my first trip away from home, and choosing to stay here made me feel lucky. What a dream! I stayed here with 3 girlfriends for a mini one-night birthday getaway and we felt so well taken care of from the moment we checked in. It’s all in the details - lovely lobby entrance with grand staircase, free access to a nostalgic snack closet and ice cream, wine hour, and the most delicious breakfast that was all included in our stay. All this plus the room itself is tastefully decorated and spacious (we stayed in the Isaac). I can’t wait to come back soon when I want to feel like I’m not in NJ anymore. Location also can’t be beat - somehow the George is tucked away in the most quiet and quaint part of town, while still being walkable to many shops and restaurants.
