Okay, I don't write these often so please pay attention. I have a theory about this hotel. If you do not book through the hotel but instead a website like Travelocity in my case, you get a purposely bad stay. How else to explain the vast difference in reviews? I don't know how else to explain the unexplainable. You really have to work at it to treat people this badly. They took the refrigerator out of the room and shut off the A/C. They wanted to charge us to bring back the fridge? I can't make you believe me but I am telling you our mattresses and pillows had to be decades old and stuffed with small pieces of chopped up foam like peanuts? The old mattresses were covered with one of those bed toppers you buy at target or just a stack of sheets. I know this because it slid off to the side the second day and the rest of our stay was a gag mattress from a mel brooks movie. We have for decades stayed at Marriotts and this is a "Marriott Bonvoy" Just down the block is a Renaissance also a Marriott Bonvoy If one is comparable to a shelter and one a palace, how can you rate them both a Marriott Bonvoy? I've stayed in some horrible conditions in my life but not in America, not in a Marriott and not when I'm paying for it! P.S. 1-We stayed because Travelocity would not refund us if we left. 2-I did not comment on specific staff because I don't want to be mean to another person. 3-My problem is with Marriott, they own it, advertise it and charge for it.

The hotel in the photo is on the same street but not this hotel. That one is nice. I parked and walked in based on photo I had seen. Then was told that my hotel was down the street. Such a disappointment

The staff were very open and helpful. They provided information on local places to eat and directions to local attraction. I would recommend this location to any family or friends going to New Your.
