Samsara Resort

"Good for am snorkeling, no night life."
Sister resort to LEGENDS... Samsara is better choice. Has more privacy, cleaner, more cordial/pleasant staff. Food is SUB-PAR! All inclusive drinks, not so great. Positive is no higglers trying to rip you off constantly for "whatever"... Better to stay at Samsara and voyage over to Legends if you wanna see what seven mile beach is like. (One day is enough). Across the street to Times Sq Mall: typical tourist trap. Locals big hassle too. AVOID the Sat Nite Reggae "concert" next door. Scary, ripoff, almost bullied. Dont go there. Do go to "three-dives" restaurant ab 1/2 mile from Samsara. You can walk to it. GREAT local food...SAFE. Reasonable priced...memorable. The Italian Rest acrx fr Samsara is good for pizza too. Be forewarned, when Samsara staff goes home for the night, they shut off most of the lights and ur on ur own. Get food and water beforehand. I've stayed at legends and at samsara. Do yourself a favor....stay at samsara and venture out as you feel adventurous. ps. boat trip to Booby Cay with snorkeling and lobsters on island worth it. The red "glass bottom boat" with "Kuyaba" sign, see "Captain Happy" ...tell him I said so. GREAT TIME. Avoid Ricks Cafe.... expensive tourist trap and jumping at 40 feet dangerous. 20 feet ok for most. Respect man. Bring lotsa one dollar bills. Dont get sucked in by the higglers. You can have fun here I did: TWICE! Just be careful. Remember: NEVER go on the beach at night, in the dark. (no matter what).

"I'll be back sooner than later"
A hurricane north of the Bahamas wiped out the beach and made the water too choppy for swimming. There was no rain or cloudiness though and the hotel pool, gym, and bar was more than adequate refuge. I rarely spend time in my hotel when in Jamaica, I usually use the room for sleeping and showering. Travellers met those needs and then some. My wife and I liked it so much that we already have a room booked for December 2015.

"Love Negril Beach Club have stayed here many times"
I normally go Jan, Feb and March but went in August this year right after Jamaica's Independence. Not a lot going on as it was off season but the hotel was clean and very quiet. Beach was pristine and peaceful. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves the whole time. Restaurant was good but because of being off season menu was limited.

"Served our needs....."
This hotel gave us what we were looking for when we booked.....a laid back, comfortable place to stay with a value price. Beach chairs were in short supply.....better claim yours by 7 am if you want one! Towels were also in short supply but it just made us more conservative with the one we did get :) All-inclusive drink menu was a little slim and the bar closed too early (10:30ish) but friendly staff all around. Great beach, nice pool, roomy hot tub. Food filled the void but wasn't worth writing home about. Rooms were clean, our cleaning lady was a gem! Property felt safe. No complaints overall, gave us what we were looking for.

Sunset at the Palms Resort - Adults Only - All Inclusive

"Friendly Staff, Gorgeous Beach- Tweaks needed"
All in all our trip was really great. The staff at Sunset at the Palms was very nice however SOME of them were very pushy in regard to trips- at some points we felt pressured. At the beach bar and grille we felt as though we were burdening people when asking for food and drinks. When you did get them employees were not friendly. I would recommend the beach get some more rafts even if you have to sign them out they were the best part of the beach. The peddling on the beach was obnoxious- though I know I should expect it there were days where the Palms did a good job keeping it minimal then there were days where kids were peddling. I stayed at an adult only resort for a reason and then had to deal with kids trying to push me to buy things. The rooms were gorgeous and well taken care of. Nice TVs, bedding was nice and it was clean. The grounds were well maintained and very nice as was the pool and all food areas. We were in LOVE with the Lotus restaurant. All in all I would say our stay was a 4 out of 5.

"Can't Wait to Go Back"
Food: Actually food very good “Barefoort on the Beach” get there at the beginning of lunch or the end otherwise you will be waiting and waiting for your lunch. Sundowner very good very pretty if you want some different wine you will have to wait a bit, service was great wait staff lovely. Kimonos great new twist to hibachi made with some Reggae bogging, lots of fun. Food was great. Main restaurant “Bayside” lunch and breakfast buffet Great!! Dinner was also very good. Service was great. It is mostly outdoors if you don’t mind the company of some garlins that look like white herrings you will be very pleased. “Dino’s” was excellent, try to go late when it is cooler. Beach: Wow gorgeous keep walking along beach and find a sandy spots with less seaweed, however, who cares about seaweed with gorgeous three shades of blue and green water. Sand is cool and white. When in the water look down it’s pretty. However, not to scare you look for sea urgents. They are spikey star fish, very pretty but is you step on one you will be startled. I was swimming alongside a sting ray who was afraid of me NOT dangerous very cool. Vendors: very controlled believe you are not constantly bothered by vendors the resort guards let a certain amount threw and they are very courteous and polite not pushy at all. They carry some beautiful things take a peek. Drinking: Ok I am officially a wind snob; Beringer Chardonnay is not for me. So I spent a good amount of money on Bottles of “Chateau St. Jean” to the tune of $48 a bottle. The good news Berenger Red is good. The sweet stuff was delicious and pretty new exotic drinks served everywhere with a smile. Rooms: Well this is when it gets dicey. We had the Concierge Room yes it was fully stocked with liquor with a beautiful view and very clean, however it was dated the bathroom was dated and our water pressure was not so great. We did take a peek at the Crystal lagoon rooms, and the millionaire Suite, and let me tell you, they were gorgeous. Needless to say we upgraded to the Millionaire Suited gave up our view for a deluxe bathroom and a private terrace, living room, two big screen TV’s etc. etc. We could only have the last two nights due to our availability. Pool side: The main pool was fun swim up bar a lagoon in the morning they have activities I took some Salsa lessons it was fun. Then they have couples activities. If you are looking for a more peaceful environment around the pool go later in the afternoon they play calmer music and people are just lounging. Staff: They get my vote for being the most hospitable people on a resort and I have been on a view including the Ritz Carlton in Naples Florida. They were totally up to the Ritz Carlton Gold standards without looking for a tip. However, if you want to tip sneak it. They all deserve it. Night Activities: Piano Bar was fun then after that they break out to a fun disco. There is always a show at the Main restaurant stage which was very entertaining. The big attraction for the Young people was the Reggae Party on the Beach near the Cabanas. We wen early and the young people where having a blast dancing and around to a great Reggae Band and let me tell you that party went on to the wee hours. Made me wish I was young again and could keep up. We talked to some couple that stayed all night and they said it was a memory making fun filled time.
