"Can't Wait to Go Back"
Food: Actually food very good “Barefoort on the Beach” get there at the beginning of lunch or the end otherwise you will be waiting and waiting for your lunch. Sundowner very good very pretty if you want some different wine you will have to wait a bit, service was great wait staff lovely. Kimonos great new twist to hibachi made with some Reggae bogging, lots of fun. Food was great. Main restaurant “Bayside” lunch and breakfast buffet Great!! Dinner was also very good. Service was great. It is mostly outdoors if you don’t mind the company of some garlins that look like white herrings you will be very pleased. “Dino’s” was excellent, try to go late when it is cooler. Beach: Wow gorgeous keep walking along beach and find a sandy spots with less seaweed, however, who cares about seaweed with gorgeous three shades of blue and green water. Sand is cool and white. When in the water look down it’s pretty. However, not to scare you look for sea urgents. They are spikey star fish, very pretty but is you step on one you will be startled. I was swimming alongside a sting ray who was afraid of me NOT dangerous very cool. Vendors: very controlled believe you are not constantly bothered by vendors the resort guards let a certain amount threw and they are very courteous and polite not pushy at all. They carry some beautiful things take a peek. Drinking: Ok I am officially a wind snob; Beringer Chardonnay is not for me. So I spent a good amount of money on Bottles of “Chateau St. Jean” to the tune of $48 a bottle. The good news Berenger Red is good. The sweet stuff was delicious and pretty new exotic drinks served everywhere with a smile. Rooms: Well this is when it gets dicey. We had the Concierge Room yes it was fully stocked with liquor with a beautiful view and very clean, however it was dated the bathroom was dated and our water pressure was not so great. We did take a peek at the Crystal lagoon rooms, and the millionaire Suite, and let me tell you, they were gorgeous. Needless to say we upgraded to the Millionaire Suited gave up our view for a deluxe bathroom and a private terrace, living room, two big screen TV’s etc. etc. We could only have the last two nights due to our availability. Pool side: The main pool was fun swim up bar a lagoon in the morning they have activities I took some Salsa lessons it was fun. Then they have couples activities. If you are looking for a more peaceful environment around the pool go later in the afternoon they play calmer music and people are just lounging. Staff: They get my vote for being the most hospitable people on a resort and I have been on a view including the Ritz Carlton in Naples Florida. They were totally up to the Ritz Carlton Gold standards without looking for a tip. However, if you want to tip sneak it. They all deserve it. Night Activities: Piano Bar was fun then after that they break out to a fun disco. There is always a show at the Main restaurant stage which was very entertaining. The big attraction for the Young people was the Reggae Party on the Beach near the Cabanas. We wen early and the young people where having a blast dancing and around to a great Reggae Band and let me tell you that party went on to the wee hours. Made me wish I was young again and could keep up. We talked to some couple that stayed all night and they said it was a memory making fun filled time.

"Wonderful people, beautiful beach, great food!"
My daughter and I just returned from a 5 night stay at Country Country. The cottages are spacious, are neat and clean, however, we had to ask to be moved to a different cottage after two nights as the air conditioner was leaking and dripping on my head and the bed. We were moved to a ground floor cottage closer to the beach. Air conditioning in Jamaica is not what we are used to in the States. Even turned on high, the air conditioner didn't keept the cottage very cool during the heat of the day, but it kept the room cool at night for sleeping. The beds are extremely hard, so if you are used to a soft mattress, you might have trouble sleeping. They put a "feather bed" (which was essentially a thin padded mattress pad) on the bed for me, but it didn't help. I will say, however, that the staff are extremely attentive and helpful, and even sent a bottle of wine and a fruit plate to us for our "little inconveniences". It was a very nice gesture and was appreciated. Each cottage has a porch with chairs and a table, perfect for listening to the whistling frogs at night. The cottages are on a lovely, clean beach, with a bar/restaurant which serves very good food. We actually ate most of our meals there because it was so good. We had no trouble getting a taxi ride to town where we ate patties and coco bread ( a must!) and visited the craft market, and arranged for a day trip with a driver, which was well worth the money to see YS Falls, the Blue Hole, the lighthouse and Rick's Cafe. We ate sugarcane, had lunch at a roadside restaurant (fabulous curry shrimp) and learned a lot about the island and it's people. Country Country is a gem if you are looking for a smaller, less commercial experience. The location on the beach and the wonderful staff make it a place I would return to (but I'd take a foam mattress topper along).

"Everything we expected and more!"
Our stay at Sunset at the Palms was everything we expected and more. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. They were exceptional in providing us with all that we asked for, during our entire week there. The food was delicious and varied each day from a choice of West Indian cuisine to American dishes. There were always plenty of options for everyone's appetite. We enjoyed the tropical drinks served at the pool bar, beach bar and piano bar and the mini-bar in our room was stocked with a variety of beverages. The grounds were so well taken care of, as they were always working to keep it perfectly clean. The comfortable rooms are of a tree house style and overlooked the beautiful tropical gardens of plants and trees. Each day we delighted in the sounds of birds and wildlife that surrounded the entire area. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning cooled the room for great sleeping or escape from the heat. We loved sitting out on our veranda and feeling the balmy breezes. The beach is very well kept and the staff was constantly working to keep it clean. We never wanted to anything, as there was always a friendly staff member available to accomodate us from towels to bringing drinks. When the sun got too hot for tanning, there are plenty of natural umbrella huts and trees to shade everyone. We look forward to returning to Sunset at the Palms, as it met all of our expectations and more.

"This hotel is one of the nicer hotels on the beach"
We stayed on the street side of the Rondel. While we were there, they were installing a stop light which will help. There was always a crossing guard but sometimes cars would not stop for him. I still would recommend the street side as the prices are much more reasonable and the crossing of the street is no big deal. You are still very close to the beach. Be sure to take a street taxi on your own for 900 Jamaican (9.00 US) into town or to Ricks Cafe as the hotels want $10 U.S. per person each way. This allowed four people to travel for $9.00 each way total. Overall, we enjoyed staying at the Rondel.
