The amenities were ok. I didn’t find anything seriously special about this resort. The staff were accommodating but very basic. I felt like just a number and not a special guest. I found the food in the dining area to be limiting in variety and pretty basic. The pastries and the sea water were the best thing on the property.

Azul is a wonderful resort!!!!

Cons: Better communication about rooms and give customers what they reserve and pay for
Location: Fireman Pit Lobster has insanely large and tender 2-5 pound rock lobsters that are worth the money. Snorkeling and other water sports are all on site.
The resort is a very well kept facility with great staff and excellent food. We enjoyed our stay. The only problem was we were put in the wrong room. We reserved and paid for a King room in the adults only section. The first room we were shown was a double queen room when we stated that it was supposed to be a king room we were told to wait. Then we were taken to a king room in the family section. When we stated that it was supposed to be in the adults only section we were told that that was the only king room available and if we wanted to be in the adults only area we had to take the queen room. No other offers or accommodations were made for us. We had to take that room to keep from spoiling the vacation.

Almost a five...

Pros: Clean, white, tidy, and friendly
Cons: Service
The grounds and resort were beautiful. The only complaint I have is that the service at the bars was soooooo slow. No matter which bar you went to you would have to stand there for ten plus minutes before you would be acknowledged. Unfortunetly that was even for a soda because there was no place on the resort for self service soda. you could grab it from your room fridge but without ice it was warm in ten minutes. If you wanted to eat when the restaurants "opened" for breakfast/lunch/supper you might as well show up 20 min. late because they were never ready on time. But, nonetheless we would still go back.

North American buyers beware!

Just returned from a 7day stay with my family. While I had confirmed our original booking (connecting premium ocean view rooms) several times before our arrival, we were given the run around at check-in. We were first told our rooms were not ready but that we would be on the 2nd floor. We were early so we went for lunch and walked around. By 4p we went back to the desk and that's when all changed. We were told we were getting upgraded to a swim up which I didn't want then it would only be for the first nt because our original rooms were no longer available. We got to the rooms and surprise - no swim up, no ocean view- one of the rooms wreaked of paint and wasn't even finished.We did get moved after the first night but not without a lot of persistence and aggravation. After speaking to other American guests we heard many of the same horror stories during their check-in. Upper Mgt at this resort is non existing as they are not visible to guests even when you ask to speak to someone. All you get is their front desk mgr., and he's completely incompetent! I will also add that we didn't receive many of the "premium perks" we were supposed to get. For a resort that just added new premium sections to expand to the North American and Canadian market, they're truly missing the mark by the way they are treating guests from the US during check-in. A shame really as it is a beautiful resort & majority of staff is great. Unless things change, we won't return nor recommend. US buyer beware
