Review: Azul Beach Resort Negril Travel & Location • The resort is about 1.5 hours from Montego Bay airport, so prepare for a long drive — not ideal if you get motion sickness. • Avoid landing on Fridays — traffic to Negril can easily stretch the trip to 3 hours. Arrival & Check-In • Greeting was underwhelming: no cold towels or welcome drinks (others received them, we didn’t). • Reception staff didn’t explain how the resort works, where the restaurants are, or give us basic orientation. Food & Restaurants • Restaurant availability is inconsistent. At night, usually only 2 restaurants (sometimes with a buffet) are open. • No clear communication — the app is unreliable, and you constantly have to ask the lobby which places are open. • Buffets lack air conditioning and often run out of food/items. • Coffee is only available at one lobby bar; items like flavorings or even bottled water run out. • Food quality: average (2.5/5) — edible but not memorable. Portions and certain items (Jamaican patties, piña colada mix, snacks) run out quickly. • Room service is limited — e.g., ordered fries but received plantain fries instead. Pools & Facilities • Advertised adult-only pools are not enforced — kids are present. • Some pools are in poor condition with cracks. • Snack/beach bars run out of food if you don’t go early. Review So probably just reiterating every review you already read. So let me start by saying the staff is 10/10, no issues with service. I got the best spa I’ve ever had, thanks Michelle. But moreso operations. I can get past the outdated rooms… even the no elevators. But the shower is gross. If you are a foodie and want to get the real relaxing resort experience this is not it. There’s 1-2 restaurants open for the entire resort per day. So good luck getting in. And if you can’t get into the restaurant, no you can’t order that same food for room service. Everything opens fairly late. Breakfast at 7a. Theres nothing walking distance off the resort, so even if you wanted to get something else you’re pretty limited. You can order a taxi though $20-40 per person. The buffet is down by building 12. My room was in building 2. Thank God for mobility and ability to get my steps in, but it got annoying. Gift shop at 8a. The QR code for the resorts amenities or room service menu didn’t work. So you really don’t know what time anything is unless you call and check daily. But if you’re on a budget and okay with a cheaper option this is an option that could fly. Just bring shower shoes. You still get the beach and can relax. But I would never recommend nor come back.

Room: My room was clean and modern with a decent balcony attached. Some form of shade/covering on the balcony would have been good Property grounds: Property grounds were decent. Grass and hedges were well maintained and people were constantly mopping floors. However some areas outside are probably in need of painting/maintenance. Amenities: Not many amenities that typical all-inclusives at this price point would have. Would be nice if they had a beach bar, also some of the pool bars were not staffed at certain points of the day. Service: Staff was polite and friendly for the most part with the odd person having some attitude. I think this was due to the fact though that they were clearly understaffed putting the staff who were there under stress. Pools and Beach: Didn't really spend much time in any of the pools as the main pool was quite a ways from my room. The beach was pristine as it is Negril, so nothing the hotel has to really do there. There were alot of beach chairs and umbrellas for guests. Food: The main reason why I am reviewing this place so poorly is the food. Food should always be the thing that resorts focus on the most for their guests and I can say that this is some of the worst food I have ever had at a resort. Options were limited, the food tasted terrible (most food was either overcooked, bland or seasoned badly). Food staff were clearly overworked and in need of help. The best food I had the entire time there was the burger, which says alot.

After a rough start with our room smelling funny the customer service team were amazing and made it up for us. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay is a great experience. The resort is great, with excellent location and food cuisines. Our new room was great with private pool access and comfy beds. Would go back again for sure.

The pics of the property do not match AT ALL what you get. The swim up rooms state that there is a swim up bar and it was closed the entire time. The grounds are severely ran down to the point of broken deck boards when you step on most the flex as if They would break any minute. The food was not great at all. This was my 17th visit and I would not return to Azul. It was also my first and last visit to this resort. The staff of course were wonderful and did what they could to make your visit good!

This hotel needs accurate pictures of the place in Expedia. Pics are not accurate at all to the conditions of the actual rooms. The customer service is so terrible, and the place is run terribly. Took us 5 calls and a visit to the front desk to get a crib/play pack for the baby. No towels in the rooms. They never replaced any towels or gave any soap. We have to call and ask multiple times to do so. They ran out of towels at the pool area multiple times and the property was not even busy. This place is all out about selling their timeshare and membership. All the restaurants are open and reserved for members. Regular guests have to wait 1-1.5hrs waiting to get a spot to eat. Even though you go right at opening, you still are not guaranteed a spot. Will never go back here again.

My wife and I just stayed at the Azul beach resort in negril jamacia. I need to start by saying the main reason we go on vacation is to relax on the beach. Sad to say but we could not do that here. We were relentlessly bothered by people trying to sell us things. Im not exaggerating when i say it was every 5 minutes. In some instances they would wake my wife up while laying on the beach or literally follow me into the ocean. If you start ignoring them then they get hostile. It was unreal. They have a ton of security at this resort and they did nothing about it. I totally understand that tourism is how many of these people earn a living but there has to be a line. We had a "personal concierge" that we didnt see until half way through our stay. When we did finally see him the first thing he did was to try and pressure us into going to a "timeshare-like" presentation by the hotel. Pretty disappointing. Half the staff was very nice. The other half was dismissive. The beach and the property is nice and maintained. Although our favorite thing to do was to go in our pool behind our suite and watch the guy come over with the skimmer, put it in the water for 5 seconds then go back and sit down behind a bush on his phone for the rest of the day. It was fun to see how long he could sit there before someone would catch him. I can confidently say i will never go back to this hotel or jamaica. I would much rather go back to paradise island. Do yourself a favor and go to the bahamas instead

We had an amazing time at Azul! The property is beautiful and a perfect location on the beach. Their beach setup was nicer than the other resorts nearby (honestly). The food was 7/10, but still good for resort food. I recommend trying some of the food places nearby. The staff and entertainment were 10/10!! I Couldnt have been happier. And there were plenty of bars on the grounds (lots of swim up bars). The drinks were ok. They were what you would expect from an all-inclusive, lots of sugary mixed drinks lol. Downside is that the property does need renovations, but that is really it. Everything is modern, just needs a facelift.

The people are nice but certain little things like not being able to get face cloths for the last two days of our trip towels, how we first got there if we said that the bedding was stained or dirty they said that it was an excuse of people wearing make up or Self tanner. The room service took two hours to get and then the food still wasn’t great at all nowhere was the food excellent.
