Room smelled like smoke. Only one person working. Wouldn't allow us to switch rooms. Contacted Travelocity with no response back.

I want to thank you for bringing this to my attention and apologize. The hotel is 100% non-smoking and unless the Hotel was sold-out, there is no reason the Front Desk would not move you. Thank you for writing.

Good Night, Bad Service

Pros: Nothing really.
Cons: CUSTOMER SERVICE and make sure rooms are cleaned.
Where do I begin... We reserved a week and a few days stay. When we walked in the room it had a unique odor. Everyday we would come back to a not clean room. Hair would be found in the shower, toilet paper on the floor that was not there when we left, even toilet paper would be in the toilet itself. One night our room was not even cleaned. We had not towels and we had no toilet paper. Called the front desk and the female desk clerk was extremely room. She made not apology and when asked to speak with the manager she said he is never there and is always gone so good luck. When we asked for toilet paper because we had none she gave an attitude. When she came to bring us some she had two rolls and made condescending remark, "would this be enough." On our last day when we checked out I went to write a formal complaint. The actual manager was there. I told him our experience and he said he would check into what happened and give me a call back. I still have not received a call back. We paid a lot of money to have this lack of service and to come to a room being dirty.

Tommy, Thank you for your comments, I do apologize too you for not being able to get back in contact with you. The number I had says it was disconnected. Again, I do apologize for the miscommunication and for the issues that happened during your stay.

This is a workers motel. Convenient location.

Pros: Location for my visit was good.
Cons: Rates were high due to being the height of the harvest season. Refurbish the bathrooms and get TV's that work.
Location: Near downtown Salinas and Monterey and all it has to offer is also only 20 minutes away. I stay here when working golf tournaments in nearby Monterey.
Hotel is going through some renovations but did not affect my stay. The rooms are rather run down with old fixtures, but the room was clean and maid service was good.

Stopover

Pros: Near freeway
Location: Location is a little isolated. You'll need to drive, but if you do everything should be close enough.
For a 1 night stop in Salinas it was fine. No restaurants in easy walking distance, but a Starbucks was nearby. Clean and everything worked

Great value for the price

The shower tub is very old and stained but other than hat the room was in excellent condition and the grounds were clean. For the price I was expecting it to be very run down. The beds were comfortable.

Decent

The hotel clerk was very polite, informative & helpful. The carpet in our room had stains in several areas & when I sat on one corner of the bed, it felt like I'd fall to the floor. The room was clean aside from the carpet. The heat never came on but maybe it wasn't cold enough? The room was as expected for the price.

Restful night. Helpful staff

Attended wedding in Carmel. Was able to check in early to prep. Quiet night so slept fairly well. Appreciated desk staff letting us into room early which is not guaranteed. Good location with brand new Starbucks next door.

The reason this is the only motel close to CarWeek

Pros: Loaction
I made reservations almost a year in advance because it is close to Monterey for Car Week. The price wasn't cheap, but the hotel is! They have a lobby, but they keep the door locked and use the bullet proof window, to give you an idea of what to expect. We got 2 rooms. I got my keys and two kids that got out of the pool and must be part of the ownership group showed us the elevator. Turns out we have the same room as they do!!?? My other party asks for a room with 2 beds... Sorry sold out. We go back to the window and wait and say someone is in our room... We get another room and when we get there, and use the toilet, it doesn't work. It keeps running, (during the drought) but won't flush. So..back to the window and get keys to a third room. The toilet works here, but the faucet on the sink is backwards and the room has holes in walls and doors that were quick fixed and painted over. And no cups or ice bucket. TV worked on a couple of channels. If they are sold out how do they have more rooms to keep giving us? And to whomever got the second room..There is a surprise in the toilet for you. So, if you need a room in the worst way; this is the place. We decided the Hampton Inn next door would be better even for $100 more

Bad Hotel

The room was not thoroughly cleaned when we arrived. Shower curtains and towels smelled of mildew. Air vent did not work.
