Nice place to stay, but not safe neighborhood

This was a nice place to stay, and owner did well with communication. There were a few things that could have been better. 1. The mattresses and pillows were not comfortable. Fixing these would go along way to making this a better experience for guests. 2. Owner posted that the temperature should not be changed, always set to 70 degrees on the thermostat. This also should not be, even though the owner is living in a sealed off space on the bottom level. For guests, they should be able to adjust it as needed for comfort. One f the nights was very chilly and there were no extra blankets or pillows provided. Overall we enjoyed the space, it was roomy, clean, updated and fit our needs, other than sleeping comfortably. One side note, not the owners fault but our last night there, nearby there was yelling and gun shots at 12:30 am, followed by police arriving. This complex is next to a not very nice neighborhood. So safety could be a concern late at night. Just something to be aware of.

Great location, VERY strong smell

Pros: great location for exploring the Everglades and Biscayne. Everything was clean in the house. Beds were comfy. Place was small but had everything we needed to stay comfortably. Check in and check out were a breeze. Dedicated parking space. Con: there was a STRONG smell to the whole place (reminiscent of marijuana). It was overwhelming and we did our best to air it out to no avail. After 3 nights we left with all of our clothes smelling, and had to wash all of our clothes the kid’s stuffed animals the moment we arrived home because they smelled so much. The owner offered a small air purifier, but unfortunately that was worthless to take care of the issue. I would not stay here again u til the owner takes care of this major issue.
