We have used VRBO for several trips and never had issues like we just had. The owner was responsive and informative with our questions before we selected and paid for the unit. However, she was reluctant to give us codes ahead of time concerning arrival info. She also said she was not aware of the construction that would be there during our stay. This was a specific inquiry we made before booking. As it was, we only received a note at our front door saying there would be construction in three days with dust and some noise! That noise consisted of extreme construction noise (jack hammers, grinding, pounding etc) for three days against our outer walls. We had to leave from 9AM to 4:00 before we could return for those days. While we were out, someone entered our unit, with no contact with us before hand,and unplugged the air conditioner inside from the wall opposite the construction. After notifying VRBO of this all we got were denials. They kept saying no one did this, yet a construction worker said someone from management came in and unplugged the AC! How did they get in….? Did not make us feel comfortable for the rest of our stay. We came to Hawaii to get some relaxation and peace & quiet as we have been going through some difficult health situations lately. Obviously, that was not the case for the last part of our trip. We are very disappointed all this happened.
