A historic hotel in the middle of nowhere. Most people would hate it but I absolutely loved it! It was bare bones and basic, extremely clean and simple. The staff was attentive, amazing and accommodating. I chose to stay here for the complete isolation and it did not disappoint. You felt like you were the only person in the entire building, which could be unnerving and scary but I enjoyed it. Will definitely be back if I ever find myself in the area again.

This property is totally charming. Don't expect great amenities, that's not what it's about. It's a historical building with all the charm of an antique - beautiful but worn. Friendly managers, easy going, nice continental breakfast.

Old fashion, nice,clean. Overall very good. We will stay here again if we pass thriugh here.

Old and nostalgic. New owner...charging the going rate, but should not because hotel is not on par with competition. No elevator, lots of stairs. Would recommend a dumbbell at the least, to get luggage upstairs to the 2nd floor. Although hotel was built in 1927, the oldness is dwarfed by the unacceptable shawty restoration. Lower your rates untill you arrive at the finish line. I was disapointed what i got, for what i paid.

We are indeed under new ownership and management as of a few short days ago. We are certainly going to be undergoing renovations and improvements but in the few short days we have had control of the hotel we have only been focused on cleaning. Renovations begin this week. However, we will be keeping the hotel as close to it's original character as possible while adding a polish to this gem of a hotel. We are sorry to read of your disappointment. We would encourage you to reach out to us privately so we may discuss your stay further, if you would be open to this. In the meantime, once again, we thank you for you review and we wish you happy travels.

The "air conditioned" .room was original to the 1937 hotel. True, it was July, but it took 4 hours to cool down to about 78 degrees. The sheets were dirty as well as the tub, dark hairs were everywhere and my husband and I are blonde.
