Well we reserved a room with two queen beds and a pull out sofa (we have kids.) We got a room with two full size beds instead. The website said an indoor pool (kids were excited for this.) No indoor pool. The outdoor pool was closed bc they had neglected to clean it. The attendant at the front said they felt it was easier to close the pool than to clean it. The information inside the hotel said it had two pools. One seasonal and one all year. This was false. There was only a he one outdoor pool that they didn’t feel like cleaning. Breakfast was decent at least. No sheets for the pull out bed. Had to go get them myself.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn in Gastonia, NC, and unfortunately had a terrible experience. There was a live roach inside the thermostat of my room. The maintenance worker who responded was kind and professional; he immediately killed the roach and sprayed the area, but the front desk staff offered little empathy or concern about the situation. The presence of a roach in any guest room is unacceptable for a hotel. I had to leave and find another place to stay because I didn’t feel comfortable remaining there. I hope management takes this issue seriously and improves cleanliness and pest control for future guests.
