We have stayed at this great wolf lodge 5 times over the last couple years. We love that we never have to leave the hotel. They are so many activities to keep kids occupied and engaged. The only thing we feel like is lacking is the availability of just a sandwich, sub or salad. We try not to eat greasy food for lunch and we had a hard time finding something that worked. But we made it work. We are already planning our next trip!

Not a Great Experience

We've stayed here several times, but this was the first time booking through Travelocity instead of directly with the hotel. Unfortunately, we were treated like 2nd class guests because we booked through a 3rd party. The front desk representatives were very unfriendly. We were given an undesirable room location, and we weren't able to get a late check out even though other times this has always been offered freely to us. This experience makes me unlikely to stay at Great Wolf again and unlikely to use Travelocity for any hotel needs.

Unbelievable how good it was

Pros: Everything we saw online advertised was true. We came from Myrtle Beach and that's not always the case with things here. It exceeded our expectations.
Cons: Not much. You get what you pay for, and this place made it worth it.
Location: It's located where a mall and all accompanying things would be. However, you get all you need inside the lodge. Charlotte Motor Speedway is nearby ...
This place lived up to its billing and then more. I say this in all honesty as someone who lives in a tourist town. Not only was the place awesome, but everyone there was helpful and nice. The setup speaks for itself and everything was as advertised. We were a little hesitant to pay $20 for a dinner buffet and considered going to a place outside the resort, but we gave it a try and man, it was not disappointing like many buffets can be. That was phenomenal food. On top of that, there's still tons of stuff we didn't have the time to do after staying for 1 1/2 days. We will plan to go again if we can. The term resort is literal - you don't have to leave to get everything you want. You get what you pay for.

Fun hotel for your kids

Pros: Face Painting. Hotel caters to birthdays. The kids loved the wolf ears and the interactive Quest game.
Cons: Offering of nanny services. We had wanted to work while we were there. New mattresses and teach housekeepers how to flip your mattresses.
Fun hotel for the kids. But a few issues along the way.The positive...There was a lot of kid entertainment, which is why we went for their b-days. They have the waterslides, the bowling, the 3D 5 minute movie experience (The Great Wall of China is the best one), the game room, and what most of the kids do is the Quest. There are wands, problem and clue solving, & running around keeping the kids minds and bodies busy. Now the not so great....the beds are not comfortable. It's clear the mattresses have never been flipped. So our mattress was so sloped towards the middle, we didn't sleep well for two nights. The heater in our room kept running unless I turned it down to 68 or 69, which is the temp I liked. But it would reset itself and go back up to 72. So the room temp was a battle. The heater in our room sounded like a clunky vibrating mess & kept waking us up. The signs on the wall about chlorine possibly burning your skin for long exposure is true. The girls swam 4-5 hours the first day, & 7 the next day. We didn't let them return the morning of our departure, because they did have slight chemical burns on their faces& where their swimsuits touched their skin. The wands didn't always work. It took the manager 3 hrs to get back to me about whether they would allow us to hire an employee after work to ride & swim with the kids. Food at the restaurants were ok. Not great, not bad. Fudge was old and hard. Some fudge pans dated 1 1/2 mos. old. Pizza was decent

Lots of fun for the children.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: The price.
Location: Plenty to do nearby, but more to enjoy inside the hotel.
My daughter and grandchildren loved their stay there.

Mediocre Value

Enjoy spending too much or even stupid amounts of money for minimal return? Great Wolf is your kind of place.

Great Staff During my January 2012 visit

Pros: water park for the children, great staff
Cons: price, resturant way overpriced
We decided to try the Wolf in Concord, NC. My son was super excited about the water park. I must admit check in was a wonderful experience as was check out. Our toilet kept getting clogged but the staff quickly took care of the issue. Staff was always there to answer questions with a smile. We did get dinner in the resturant and were very dissatisfied. The buffet was way over priced and the food tasted like it had been up there all day long. Not real impressed but we gave it another try for lunch the following day. Another over priced burger that wasn't the best. After sitting at the table for 20 minutes, and finally getting up to ask if anyone was going to wait on us, a great guy came out and took care of us. The water park was nice. No isssues with any part of it. Overall, a good experience but we feel the room was overpriced, the food was overpriced, the drinks were overpriced......get the idea?? BUT my 6 year old loved it.
