I was excited to stay at the Tropicana Inn. I paid for parking and was utilizing the self parking option that was displayed on their website. Apparently, there was some confusion because I parked in a reserved spot although I did reserve two parking spots. I got multiple phone calls along with threats to tow my car. I informed Hotel staff that I would give my keys to the valet upon return to the hotel. When I return, I found that my key card did not work. Hector at the front desk informed me that my key card was intentionally disabled and my young children and I were locked out of our hotel room because the valet did not have my keys. I already gave the valet my keys at this time. I was threatened to be evicted by Hector and had to wait outside in the cold after midnight with my autistic children while we waited for maintenance to come and undead bolt my door. After which, I learned that they had entered my hotel room and unplugged the heater we had turned on, and my son’s wallet who is 7, disappeared. I attempted to contact the owner, only to speak with Michelle the front desk manager, who did not respond or the general manager, who has not returned my phone call. STAY AWAY. UNLAWFUL LOCKOUT.

Staff was great. Forgot my keys on the counter while checking out and a staff member chased me down to get them back to me before I got very far. Staff also called to let me know they had found my pillow that I forgot in the room and offered to ship it back to me. The only negative was our room was near the dumpster that gets loudly emptied every day at 630 am. Location cannot be beat if you are going to Disney it took us 5 to 7 minutes to get to the security check in area for Disney.

Our late check-in went smooth & we got in our room fast. Staff were fast and efficient. We stayed 4 nights. Our first night was a nightmare!! Words don’t describe howTHIN the walls are at this hotel; not even paper. When neighbors MAKE ANY NOISE it’s like they were in your room! Our neighbors were sick hawking up loogies all night long going in & out of their room just letting the door slam behind them; kids crying & you could tell they were sick with some kind of respiratory illness. They sounded so miserable. The kicker was they had 2 room and left the kids in one room and went to sleep in a different room & you could hear the kids coughing and crying all night long. Around 3 AM we got a knock at our door and it was a 4 year boy crying hysterically saying DaDa. We tried to help him that’s how we knew the kids were left unattended. Contacted authorities & front desk. Authorities NEVER showed up! Staff were accommodating & offered us another room, but we didn’t take it because they were checking out following day. As for housekeeping it was NONE EXISTENT! We obviously slept in the next & sacrificed our Disneyland time because we got NO sleep the previous night. (wasn’t offer any discounts for our loss of Disney time) The next morning we told housekeeping we didn’t want housekeeping THAT DAY & they NEVER came back! On a positive note upon arrival our room was clean, the hotel felt very safe, the exterior was clean, staff is efficient & valet is fairly fast & courteous.

the staff is friendly, but it’s definitely a motel. Even after the refurbishment it’s still kind of damp in the rooms, and there were issues with bathroom doors sticking and sinks not draining. If your priority is proximity to the park and more affordable than the resort hotels it does the job.

Hotel Review: Tropicana Inn & Suites – Disneyland Area We had a wonderful stay at the Tropicana Inn & Suites. Our room was comfortable, clean, and provided everything we needed for a relaxing visit. One of the highlights was learning about the history of the property—it’s clear the hotel has been part of the Disneyland experience for many years, and that charm really comes through. You truly can’t beat the location. Being directly across the street from Disneyland made it incredibly convenient to walk to and from the parks, especially after long, fun-filled days. The staff made our stay even better. Everyone we encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their hospitality added to the overall positive experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Disneyland!
