"Clean, friendly, quiet, centrally located"
Our family was in Chicago for a long weekend. We stayed at this hotel 4 nights. The hotel is just off Michigan Avenue, just south of the river. The lobby area has been very nicely renovated. The building used to be the office of the Chicago Automobile Association, and it is a beautiful art deco building. The free breakfast was very good -- well beyond the usual spread at free breakfasts. They had different hot items every day (omelettes, english muffins broiled with cheese and ham, french toast, etc.) as well as an oatmeal bar, fresh fruit, bagels, toast, a waffle bar, yogurt, pastries and cereal. The room was clean and comfortable -- kind of small, but functional. All the staff, from the front desk to the breakfast staff to the cleaning staff -- was very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

"Great location. Perfect Hosts"
Out of all the hotels I've stayed at in Chicago this one was definitely the best one ever. Opening the door to the room was WOW, how pretty, love the hardwood floors, modern design. Very convenient to shopping, variety of eateries. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Will continue to stay here from now on.

"Historic hotel close to Navy Pier and shopping!"
We had to book a last minute hotel in downtown Chicago and we were worried about the price. We book a travelocity hot deal and we couldn't beat the price for the location of this hotel. We were right off Michigan Ave, 3 blocks away from Navy Pier, and the price was unbelievable. The hotel itself if old, 14 stories with only 2 slow elevators and the rooms are small, but if you are looking for just a place to crash while visiting the downtown area this is the place to stay.

"Good for my one night stay."
We needed an overnight place in Chicago. I chose this hotel based on comments that there was free wifi and parking. However the parking cost was $38.00, but it was valet parking so well worth it. I'm not familiar with Chicago. This is an older building so the room was smaller and the bathroom is small. But for one night it was fine. There was a large Traders Joe nearby and and eating places within walking distance.

"Fine for what I needed."
The carpeting in the room was filthy. I walked on it barefoot and my feet had black soot looking stuff on the bottom. They need to seriously consider a professional carpet cleaner or replace it. Otherwise, everything was fine. No dust and bathroom was clean.

"Loved the quiet neighborhood setting. "
Stayed overnight with girlfriends. Had great rooms. The staff was more than accommodating. I have and would continue to refer people to this property. One of the best places I have stayed in a long time. I will stay here from now on and stay out of the congestion of the city. Parking was very reasonable, which is hard to find.

"Great stay with a neighborhood feel "
I can say this without reservation or any fear of embellishment, this is true: staying at the Majestic was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I’ve ever had in my life. I knew when the Uber driver approached the building that we were in for a treat! The hotel is an old-style apartment building nestled in a residential area. When you walk into the building you will not see a typical hotel check-in counter. There is a desk with chairs. You will be cordially greeted during your smooth check in. I was told there are different sizes of rooms, and if you want a particular size you should call directly and well in advance of your trip to secure the larger rooms. We stayed in a small room, like, nearly European room small, but it felt old-timey and actually quite cozy! Another unique thing was the snacks on the table and drinks in the fridge. It’s junk food, but there’s a variety. Best of all, it’s all actually reasonably priced! Even the wine and beer in the room is not your normal exorbitantly priced hotel mini bar. Breakfast is served every morning, and the host of the meal is a gentleman named Dan, who is incredibly friendly! In addition to his warm welcome every morning, he is also willing to provide fascinating amounts of detail about the neighborhood, Wrigley Stadium, and the city of Chicago in general. He will help with directions, restaurant recommendations, and local events. Free wifi makes a great place even better! Bottom line: this hotel is a must!
