Bring your own cleaning crew

This is by far the DIRTIEST place I have ever stayed. Don’t be fooled by the reviews that state the location is the only thing this place has going for it. That is accurate. It is a perfect spot but that is absolutely it! I never leave reviews but I brought my family and had it not been break week we would have found somewhere else to stay. The linens on the beds are stained and disgustingly dirty. There are layers on the fans that shower you in dirt and dust so you cannot turn them on. Would be difficult for anyone to actually clean when the vacuum doesn’t have a canister and the mop and bucket look like they are about 20 years old. Dishwasher sounds like a rocket ship about to take off and mold on the walls. While I was immediately responded to by the rental company, I was told someone would be in contact and instead I was insulted with a 28.01 refund. Which basically covered the cleaning supplies I had to purchase to allow my family to stay. We will NOT be back!

Nice

Very clean, location was great, just need a new pull out sofa. Kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils. Needed more towels but all in all it was a great place.

Loved our stay

Loved our stay. The fantastic view was worth the trek up 3 flights of stairs. The balcony was private, and you really can't get a better view. Traveling with a less than ten month old meant staying inside more often, so the balcony helped us enjoy the beach when we couldn't go down to it. The kitchen was surprisingly very stocked with more than just the basics to cook. The whole condo was really very spacious. We loved the open layout and the second bedroom tucked away for our daughter to sleep.

Beautiful porch view, nice porch rockers, nice electric stove, nice microwave, nice marble kitchen counter top…Rust and mold on vents, rust covered dishwasher, unfinished wall repairs, dents on frig, screen hanging off slidling door, crack and plaster falling off window frame, grout dirty and moldy on ceramic tile throughout unit…terrible unit needs a lot of work…water leak inside front bedroom/bathroom wall….front steps look completed but probably waiting on paint job….never saw a worker all week long….VRBO should be ashamed to receive payment for the rental unit…should be dropped from listing

Exactly as described! Only issue we had was construction workers (working on building next door) parking in designated spots. View was great. Stairs rough but get used to it. Kitchen could use some more basics (knives, cookie sheets, pot holders) but we managed.

Renter Beware

Read the reviews, they’re accurate. What did we love about it? The view. That’s about it. We’d made our reservation when the most recent review from a stay in November appeared. Little late for us. I reached out to Vacasa asking if everything had been fixed since the previous renters review and was assured it had all been taken care of… When we arrived the unit smelled heavily of the previous renters cooking. Pretty heavy fried food smells, like a fast food restaurant. We started putting our belongings on the kitchen counter and quickly found it to be covered with sand. Every single ceiling vent has some sort of black “fungus” growing over the vent and in some rooms onto the ceiling. Sofas and table chairs are stained. One of the twin beds was still broken and resulting in sleeping at an angle. The toilet in the front bathroom didn’t work. Water had been turned off, when we turned the water back on it just kept filling, no flushing. Disposal didn’t work. Every baseboard looks like they haven’t been cleaned in years. Every lampshade, towel rod, picture and even the walls are layered in dust. All ceiling lights fixtures show signs of rust. Doors were dirty. We were not provided with a WiFi password until the following day. A minor inconvenience in the big scheme of things, thankfully we had good cell reception. I did have text messages with someone that evening and they did send out a cleaning crew the following morning. But even those nice ladies admitted the cleaning that needed to be done inside the unit was beyond them. They did what they could, which was basically wiping the vents with a wet rag. A maintenance guy came out to fix the toilet, but it still wasn’t working right. Vacasa has since apologized via text for the “frustration and inconvenience” caused. We’re back home with congestion and coughing, can’t imagine why. We have stayed at many vacation spots along the SC coast, renting through VRBO and various rental companies…we have never stayed at property so poorly represented in a listing. Renter beware.

The view was great! The inside is where we had problems. 1. Mold on the vents throughout the condo 2. Twin in the second bedroom was broke and propped up by folded up bath mats on 2 of the legs. 3. Second bathroom toilet ran 24/7 keeping my daughter awake at night even with the door shut. 4. The master bathroom sink leaks under the cabinet. I did reach out and received a thank you email.

Great Stay

Condo is a stones throw to the ocean, and if your not seeing it, you are hearing it through the screen deck opening. Very nice, and bed very comfortable too.

Disappointing

We were very excited for our trip to Myrtle Beach for our son's baseball tournament in July. While I will say that the only good thing about this property is the location. Oceanfront and easy access to the beach. On our arrival day after driving 9 hours with two kids we received a text that the property was ready for check-in. We entered the property and it had not been cleaned. I mean, really hadn't been cleaned. I immediately contacted the rental place and they were very responsive. The cleaning company however was very busy and wasn't able to get to the condo until 8pm. We were finally able to get back in at 10pm. Turnkey said they would be contacting the owners to discuss compensation for the inconvenience. After the condo was cleaned, it was much better however it left much to be desired. The white couches are stained and dirty as well as the kitchen chairs, shower curtains moldy, the ceiling in the master bath appeared to have a leak (not an active leak) and parts of the ceiling were dropping to the floor. A musty smell remained through our stay, so much so that I had to go out and buy some plug ins to make the must smell subside. The wifi provided in the emails we recieved didn't work, we had to use hotspots from our phone. Thankfully we weren't there much and that wasn't a huge issue. Towels were tiny and could barely dry an adults body. Turnkey called us after our stay and left a message. We have called back several times but have yet to receive a call back. Most other units had storage on the first floor that had beach gear (beach chairs, toys, etc)however ours did not. That would have been helpful. Pizza Hyena down the street is AMAZING, highly recommend if you like a good gourmet pizza.

Surfside Condo

This was a very clean, nice rental with a beautiful view of the ocean. We loved that it had a back set of stairs that went straight from the balcony down to the beach access. The balcony was a nice size and very private.

Nice bright and clean unit located right on the beachfront. Views were amazing, quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed how quiet the unit was (no children running about unsupervised). Only downside was not enough towels and washcloths for the 4 of us, also missing potholders and a can opener in the kitchen. We purchases a cheap can opener and left it. Replaced batteries in the remotes. Tried our best to be good stewards while we were there.

Stairs!!!!

Every step up three full flights of stairs was worth the effort for me age 73 and my husband who is 88 years old because of the privacy and truly outstanding ocean views. Sunrises were beautiful at this level. It was a quiet family location and the home was basic but not a problem for us since it was clean. The tub/showers should have grab bars to hold onto because it was scary for folks our age and there was no cutting board, placemats, coasters or seat cushions. I think the sole tiny table on the porch was less than adequate because the two cup holders took up all the space so I would suggest adding a one with a bit more space fir sandwich plate and drink because we wanted to eat outside with those views!! The Kitchen pots, pans and utensils were well stocked. I would suggest adding a couple of measuring cups as well. These are all just basic suggestions for the future. We loved every minute of our stay!

Beautiful View

Clean and comfortable, right on the beach with beautiful views. We even saw dolphins one morning while sitting on the large balcony. Loved the rocking chairs!!
