Hard to beat the price. Not the best section of Myrtle Beach. I think our room was in the older half and had a funky smell. The promised partial ocean view was only if you put the side of your face against one window and then could barely see it. Seems quite run-down. The "bar" was a tiny little room that could maybe seat 8. Seems like it might be good for kids with outdoor and indoor kids pools. It is right on the beach. Parking was ample across the street.

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent stay. I was able to pull your reservation and see you booked a standard ocean view room. Those rooms are only available in our Jamaican building. We do offer different room types in our other buildings at a slightly increased rate. Our Cayman offers 2, 3 and 4 bedroom condos. Our Dominican offers single bedroom suites w/either a King bed or 2 double beds. Our Chelsea is located across the street (NOT oceanfront) and offers 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Perhaps one of these other options will better suit your needs during a future stay.

The Downfall of the Caribbean hotel

We have stayed many, many times over the past 8 Year’s and have stayed in various type of rooms. This stay was much different then in the past, it started at check in, we arrived st 12 for pre-check in and returned at 3pm, (when check in time actually is) the room was not ready, I let them know I had my 80 year old mother with me and needed some indication when it would be, here is what happened next: The person checking me in disappeared for over 20 mins, I had to cut a line and ask another employee to please find him, (it was over 80 degrease and my mom was standing waiting in the lobby) Finally he was found I was given a room, now it was 4pm. Entering the room and housekeeping trying to rush and make the beds, apparently room was not ready. That night we were awoken by LOUD music from the next room, security was called and it continued next day and night, smell of smoke from cigarettes and DRUGS was extremely strong in the hall and on the room deck, No shower curtain and waited over 1 hour and 2 calls before they handled it. Broken toilet paper roll. Towels in 1 bathroom only, 4 people 2 large towels(also had to wait for that) So sad , i hope they smarten up, hire a lot more staff, go back to putting customers first , when people are on vacation they want to be accommodated, it shouldn’t be so much work and aggravation to go away and relax.

We do have security on site all day and would have been happy to address the noise complaints as well as the Drug smell. We do follow up on all concerns, unfortunately if we cant determine the exact room, that creates a hindrance. We have evicted people in the past for all the concerns you addressed here. So please know, We do take all of our customers needs seriously. I appreciate you letting us know specifically some of the Housekeeping concerns you had. Our Housekeeping manager has been working very hard to increase her staffing levels for our summer season. Your concerns will be used as training tools for her team. We hope you will allow us another opportunity to better your opinion of Caribbean Resort and Villas during a future stay. Please feel free to contact myself or any of our front desk agents to ensure a more pleasant stay next time.

Jamaica room

We stayed in the Jamaican part of the hotel. We got there earlier than check in our room wasn't ready but we were aloud to us the pool area. No one ever called to inform me when the room was ready. Check in is at 3 and we didn't get into out room till after 4. Our room was nice better than I thought it would be. The beds are kinda hard. The only bif complaint I have is there was no child lock on the top of the door. Maybe its called a security lock. My three year old son kept unlocking the door and would try to leave. Other than that it was really nice and all the employees were very pleasant.

You are welcome to fill your paperwork out early and if the room is available we are happy to get you into the room sooner. I am sorry you didn't receive the call, perhaps they were still working on all the other early checkins and had not yet reached your room. We do have maintenance on site until midnight. We would have been happy to have them come over and take a look at your door. They are happy to try and fix any concern they can once informed. If it is something beyond their capability we do have outside companies we can call if needed. Thank you for letting us know about our employees that helped you out. We appreciate hearing when our associates go out of their way to make a guest feel comfortable. We look forward to seeing you during a future visit.

Ok place, but hit with extra charges

This place was ok...not particularly nice or new or clean, but it was fine. The most frustrating thing was that we were hit with an $84 charge when checking in that was separate from the Travelocity price. I will not be staying there again and will likely not use Travelocity again either.

I would not book hotel

The rooms had hair everywhere, the tv didn't have a remote control and the hall ways were filthy. Dresser drawers were not clean at all.

Not what I was expecting

Pros: Not much, have stayed in nicer here for cheaper.
Cons: Don't advertise something falsely. Clean and update rooms
Location: This place was close to beach and restaurants
This place advertises restaurant, bar, snack shack by pool, and Starbucks. Restaunt was beside the hotel not in it and was almost a formal style place. Snack shack and pool bar are only open early. If you want a drink Get it before 3 in afternoon. No coffee in lobby, you have the get up and walk across the street at parking garage. Our room was ok, oceanfront but dated and not very clean. HAIR EVERYWHERE!! Gross! Hotel staff was very nice, but not knowledgeable. Asked about times of bar and other things, and each time got a different time that was incorrect. For the price you can get a nicer place at Myrtel.
