This small, clean cottage is in a quiet neighborhood near the water. It's conveniently located to Lincoln City proper and only a short drive from Depoe Bay. Although it's not far away from Hwy 101, road noise was not an issue. The yard is fenced and large so for folks with small kids there's room for them to play. For grownups, there's a hammock and a fire pit.
Inside, general seating is plentiful and comfortable as well. The bed in the main bedroom was also comfortable. There is a modern refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and washer/dryer pair. The stove is older but it works fine although figuring out how to turn on the oven was a challenge (see below).
All in all, I enjoyed my stay.
Now, I rented this property for a month so some of the following comments/suggestions reflect that fact.
Comment: While the kitchen cabinets are well stocked with dishes, glasses, pots and pans, etc, cabinet space for things like canned goods, cereal, pasta and other food items not requiring refrigeration is pretty much non-existent. I ended up just stacking such items on the kitchen counter.
Suggestion: There is a lot of empty wall space next to the refrigerator, a perfect place for some shelving or a cabinet that would serve as a pantry.
Comment: The bathroom is small with sink enclosure that provides no counter space. There is no medicine cabinet. Like the kitchen, there is almost no place to store things like shaving gear and general toiletries. I had to put such item on the window sill or on top of the toilet tank.
Suggestion: Relace the mirror over the sink with a mirrored medicine cabinet and consider putting a small wall cabinet on the blank wall above the toilet.
Comment: The electric stove is somewhat older than the other appliances. As such, it doesn't feature digital controls. On the upright panel at the back of the burner array, there's a manual dial for selecting oven temperature and a small analog clock. Embedded in the clock near the 9 o'clock position is a very small switch. After searching all over the stove, I discovered almost by accident that this tiny switch turns the oven on and off.
Suggestion: Leave a note for future renters pointing out the switch and what it does.
