    Oregon Hotel Travel Guide

The essence of Oregon lies in the residents' bond with the nature that surrounds them. You can see that bond expressed in pristine beaches, outstanding wild areas, and strong tradition of preservation. Reserve Oregon hotels to be near incredible mountain vistas, crashing surf, open deserts, and cities that wow visitors with their eclectic charm. Choose to sample world-famous doughnuts in Portland or sip an extraordinary wine in Yamhill County. On the coast, enjoy fresh salmon right off the boat and catch a sunset behind a dramatic seascape. Just 20 minutes east of Portland is the dramatic Columbia River Gorge, home to dozens of waterfalls and outstanding hiking trails.

    Visiting the Beaver State

Most people coming in on cheap flights to Oregon will land at PDX, one of the country's most beloved airports. The city has an international reputation as a foodie destination, and it also has more craft breweries per person than any city in the world. Portland lies at the end of the Willamette Valley, just north of Oregon's Wine Country. From the valley, it's just a couple hours to Oregon resorts on the spectacular Pacific coastline. Drive the 363 miles of US 101 and discover boundless natural wonder. Southern Oregon features the wild Rogue River and the beloved and heralded Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. Crater Lake National Park, with stunning scenery, is here too. The Cascade Mountains run like a backbone through Oregon, dividing with volcanic peaks and rising above lush forests. Eastern Oregon is a remote high desert, with a rugged beauty all its own. With near zero light pollution in some places, you can see the night sky like you never have before. "Great location on Pioneer Square"
Spent Thanksgiving weekend in Portland with the Nines as our base of operations. Right on the square and within a block of all the major Trimet MAX light rail lines which was our primary means of transportation around the greater metropolitan area. Ran in the Turkey Trot at the Zoo, after taking the light rail to the Washingon Park station, and enjoyed the activities around the tree lighting ceremony on Saturday. Had dinner at the Urban Farmer in the hotel on Wednesday night. Farm to table with an excellent menu. Very Eco-friendly and scheduled our maid service to minimize laundry requirements. The staff was very helpful and congenial. Stayed at the Benson in 2014 and would rate both similarly, although the Nines is closer to the action.

    "Amazingly beautiful hotel"
I had such an amazing experience at this hotel despite there being a water leak in my hotel room in the middle of the night on my first night there. The staff handled the issue expeditiously and professionally. They upgraded my room to a suite at no extra charge and every staff member I had an interaction with was the definition of a professional. Being a manager in the hospitality industry for the past twenty years, I've never been more impressed by an entire operation as I was with the Benson Hotel. The rooms were beautiful, the cocktails and the food from the Palm Court were perfectly crafted and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel to every and anyone.

"Short Summer Vacation in the Sun."
The facilities were excellent. One big disappoint was that there was renevation being done on the upper floor that was very intrusive to our stay. We were not made aware of this revelation prior to booking our stay.

"Quiet, clean, excellent bedding, on the river"
Really enjoyed all aspects of this facility. Room was clean and nice, fantastic & comfortable King bed, nice shower and bathroom. VERY QUIET, which is HUGE for us. They have beautifully-situated eating and bar areas that overlook the river, with overhead heaters and music playing, all carved into the foliage/riverbank landscaping. Room service was very quick and food quality was good. All of the staff were very good to us. If you want to spring extra for a higher rate, the backside rooms have balconies that overlook the Deschutes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    "Best Family Vacation Hotel!"
The staff and everyone are incredibly helpful and friendly. Totally great for families and all-inclusive in the price: you can check out beach toys, DVDs, books, and board games from the desk. Need to wash a load of laundry but don't have detergent? No prob, they've got your back there too. The maid service and even maintenance staff are incredibly friendly to everyone. The rooms are immaculately clean and feel like new, too. Location is awesome: right on the start of the cute little downtown of seaside, walk to beach. Overall one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in, and by far the nicest beach hotel! The fitness room is really tiny, but with the beach only a block away and so much to do, you'll want to get your workout done early anyway, so it isn't hard to get the machine you want when you want. Only thing that could be improved would be the breakfast offered, which was biscuits-and gravy, soft white-flour waffles, sugary yogurts and cereals, and mini-donuts or white bread you can toast. We bought ingredients for and made our own breakfasts. But everything else couldnt have been better!
