This property is terrible and a poor representation of the intercontinental brand. I’ve visited Intercontinental Los Angeles and Intercontinental San Francisco, both were incredible. Intercontinental Chicago was extremely disappointing. The bad experience began when I was approached by the valet attendant. He was unprofessional and did not offer any assistance with baggage. After, I entered the hotel lobby which appeared old and outdated. I went to the check in counter and was met with more unprofessionalism from the representative. I am an IHG Platinum Elite Member, but was not offered any points, perks or benefits. I was given my key and went to my room. The room was not what I booked. This was frustrating. I had to return to the check in desk to get the correct room. The representative argued with me claiming that I did not reserve the upgraded room. I showed the representative my reservation. She immediately apologized after realizing I did in fact reserve the correct room. She offered drink tickets and assigned a new room, which was the correct room. Upon entering the room, I noticed the layout was awful the television was placed in a way that could not be viewed from the bed. The room was completely outdated. I accepted the hotel was awful and decided not to return to the desk as I would most likely be disappointed. This hotel is not worth the price or the headache.

Great. I got room early at 10:30am and was able to do a conference call. Towles were soft. Shower head pressure was a bit off - adjustable bit didnt work well.
