Horrible hotel

Our stay was horrible. We had trouble straight from the get go. They wouldn't accept my fiancées debit card for payment until I called hotels.com and got them to sort it out. The room was supposed to be non smoking but stunk of smoke and was dirty. The toilet backed up and when I called the front desk to have maintenance come and fix it they made me have to walk to the front desk and they handed me a used dirty plunger and i had to walk back to our room and plunge the toilet myself. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Room was extremely dirty with cockroaches, dirt and grime. Bed linens were filthy with cigarette burns. Smoke detector was on the dresser with no batteries in it. Bathroom was very dirty with a used bar of soap still in the shower.

This facility appeared to be a place where unsavory activities are occurring. Multiple people were loitering on almost every floor / landing. You could smell pot on the landing around the 4th floor where our room was. The bed linens had multiple burn holes in the sheets. The refrigerator was filthy. The one and only really clean area appeared to be the bath tub. The chair arm appeared to have been destroyed by claws or chewed.

It was not the worst stay, but when I pulled in front of my room, there was a huge trash bag outside of my door which was not moved until the he next morning. I enter the room, there is a pair of dirty socks on top of the closet cubby and one of the beds had very visible burn marks in the sheets and blanket. Later that night, while under the covers, I felt a scratch and discovered a piece of glass was under the sheets. I stayed for from Friday till Monday morning. There was intermittent taps coming from bathroom. Still unsure where it was coming from… it freaked me out because it didn’t sound like plumbing issues and the taps seemed to move around in there and stop when I would get up to see if I could locate the source. If it’s what I am thinking, it is not the property’s fault… lol… Getting dressed for an 11:00 check out, I was interrupted shortly after 10 by housekeeping. IT’S NOT CHECK OUT TIME! I paid till 11, so what’s with the hour early knocking? My advice, is to tighten up on the cleanliness so that people like me don’t have to do it ourselves and if you’re gonna have housekeeping start early, they should be looking out for glass in the bed and dirty socks on top of the cubby. Again, not a horrible stay, but not the best either.
