Lack of view, upcharge

Had a great stay. Wish I paid more to see a better view. Didn't do an upcharge for the city view. It was okay. Didn't stay in the room much. Hotel is in the middle of everything, entertaining. Overall, great stay with cleanliness. I would stay there again.

Bringing Daughter to College

Pros: The view
Cons: I shouldn't have to spend an hour reading the fine print to figure out the incidental charges which jacked up my nightly rate by almost 40%.
Location: It's the Inner Harbor in Baltimore...google it.
I was bringing my daughter to college in the Baltimore area and rather then get up at 3am for the 4 hour drive I thought it would be nice to stay in the Inner Harbor the night before, get a good meal and see the sights a bit. This hotel had an online offer of paying in advance to reserve the room in exchange for a reduced rate so I booked it. When I checked in they took a $50 deposit on my debit card for any additional charges and told me it would be put right back in my account if I don't incur incidental room charges. At check in I also found out that the parking garage, with private elevators to the hotel lobby, is not theirs, is not guarded and is $40 for the evening. Got to the room, nice enough but had to pay an additional $12.95 if I wanted wi-fi......who doesn't want wi-fit?!? At check out I had to pay $52.95 for garage and wi-fi. When I got home, the $52.95 is debited and the $50 deposit is not credited back! Jeez, what had looked like a great deal was really anything but.

Not great, not bad.

Pros: Well appointed, attractive guest rooms.
Cons: Shower had signs of water damage to ceiling, the bathtub was worn, and there mildew in several areas. Common areas very noisy.
Location: Excellent location - walking distance to all Inner Harbor attractions.
Main areas of hotel are attractive but a little dated. Elevators inexplicably had blue lights and played club-style music. Staff was helpful but not especially personable. (With the exception of the very nice older gentleman who delivered our breakfast order to the room.) Common areas of hotel were very loud. From room, could hear traffic and outside noise all night long. Our room was attractive and well appointed, but the bathroom showed signs of wear and could have been cleaner. Great location and proximity to Inner Harbor attractions. Better suited to couples or adults than families.

Cons: Room decor is very dated. Bed linens did not match. The duvet was a beautiful white with a gray design. The Bed skirt was mustard yellow and brown.
Overall the room was nice and had a great view of the harbor. Very convenient to shops and restaurants. Hotel staff was friendly.

2 downfalls

Pros: The comfort and cleanliness
Cons: The cost for everything including the Wi-Fi and movies
Location: It's near everything and there is a beautiful view of the water, if you can affort to pay the extra for a water view.
There should be free Wi-Fi for what you pay for the room and the movies are way too expensive. Pay-per view is cheap so why is it so much at a hotel? $19.99 for a movie is highway robbery.

Very nice hotel. Great location.

Cons: Pricing is very high.
Always pleasant stay. We always come back because of nostalgic reasons mainly. We have been coming for 20 years now. We only stay one night. Pricing is high and parking is not included. Wish valet or parking was included.

Wonderful views

Great room wonderful staff. Location is convenient to the harbor arena and stadiums. The have been remodeling for the last year plus but you can not hear anything in the rooms. One of our favorite hotels downtown to stay in

This hotel made us feel welcome from start to finish

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, the bed was exremely comfortable, the staff was great!!, the mall attached was a plus, the location was the best
WOW, this hotel made my husband and I feel welcome from the time we stepped in the door, even before we stepped in the door. We were greeted outside. We were greeted with a mango mint tea with a shot of vodka. The staff could not have been more friendly. LaDonna and Derek were most helpful and pleasant and we thank them. I work for one of the largest companies in the US and I know customer service. They know what customer service is all about! We had a great stay and would recommend the Renaissance.
