"This is a classic American motel. It was an absolute bargain and exactly what we needed for an overweight stop. A clean and convenient place to sleep and shower, with shops and restaurants close by for dinner and breakfast. There was also a little kitchenette and coffee provided in the room which was a welcome change after Vegas, where you get nothing for free!"

"Great location to the park. Had to request a new room- booked non-smoking and first room smelled strongly of smoke. First and second room were both not clean in the bedroom and bathroom. Linens across the room were visibly not clean (hair, staining, etc.). For one night, it was ok. However, we would most likely not return. "

After a long struggle with Long Covid, my older daughter is finally doing much better, and we wanted to celebrate.Joshua Tree Retreat was a wonderful place to escape to. The three‑bedroom home, filled with unique artwork, books, and colorful walls, felt truly special—definitely not your everyday VRBO. Dale’s stories about the history behind the artwork and books made exploring them even more meaningful. The numerous outdoor sitting areas, the hot tub, and the unbelievably beautiful pool offered peaceful places to relax and spend time together. Even working outdoors felt like a reprieve. And how refreshing to stay in a VRBO with a well‑stocked kitchen and quality cookware.The retreat is a short distance from both the North and West entrances to the park, making it easy to explore early and late in the day to avoid the heat. The Barker Dam and Hidden Valley hikes are great for everyone, but for me, seeing my daughter able to enjoy them again was incredibly gratifying. A sunset stroll inside the nearby park boundary—something Dale can give directions for—was also wonderful.Dale was kind enough to extend a late checkout for us, which allowed us to enjoy the morning, soak our feet in the pool, and then transition easily to meeting family later in the day in Palm Springs. We truly appreciated his understanding and the extra care."

"Unfriendly staff, seemed like an annoyance that I was checking in. Bedding and towels old and ragged, looked clean at least. Sink plugged..wouldn’t drain in the morning. Need to be short to take a shower. Dirty walls noticed after being there. "
