This Holiday Inn Express was in a perfect location for us, near Joshua Tree National Park and a variety of local restaurants and supermarkets. All the staff were very helpful, and the room was comfortable. Breakfast was a plus.

The mattresses were way too soft and not comfortable or supportive. The breakfast options were super high in sugar, even the healthier options like yogurt. The common areas weren't well maintained - a broken door, lightbulbs needing to be changed, coffee spills/stains on the ground. The room was hot and stuffy, even in winter; it it's possible to allow the windows to open a bit more, that would help a lot with air circulation.

The hotel needs some maintenance. Their water dispenser, coffee makers, back door, and lights in the breakfast area all needed work. The floors were not cleaned in the common areas - we were there 2 nights and the same coffee spills were in the elevator and surrounding 1st floor way. The back door to the back parking was inoperable, the spa was out of order, an entire unit of overhead lights in the breakfast room was blinking. There was a meager selection of yogurt, cereal, and the oatmeal was instant only. Automatic coffee makers were down, so they had a pot pre-made available all the time. The staff had to run a slow water filter to provide drinking water to the exercise room. Not the best place we've stayed.

Very very nice staff, both at the front desk and the breakfast area. The building might be old or poorly built as we can hear every footsteps very clearly and loudly from upstairs. The room heater was very loud and there was no thermostat we could find in the room to control it. Great location to stay if visiting Joshua Tree Park.
