Swans Hotel & Brewpub

506 Pandora Ave., Victoria - Map
"Fun comfortable hotel in the heart of downtown "
This was a gem of a hotel, in an older building that had been nicely renovated, with a lively brew pub/restaurant on the first floor. We actually stayed here twice, at the beginning and end of a backpacking trip on the West Coast Trail. Rooms were nicely furnished with interesting artwork, had kitchenettes, nice bathrooms. Bed linens were heavenly. Nice plush terry robes. Rooms had small balconies to let in the fresh air, one balcony had two chairs, was big enough to sit out on, and that room also had large windows downstairs and in the loft, looking out over downtown. There were restaurants galore within a block or two. We noticed we were one block over from China Town. We loved eating and drinking beer in the downstairs brew pub, both the beer and food were great. They have a pay washer and dryer on site, which was good when we returned from the backpacking trip. Felt safe, secure here. If I ever return to Victoria I would stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone visiting there.

Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel & Marina

146 Kingston St, Victoria - Map
"Close, comfortable, and quiet"
We've stayed in Victoria several times but this was our first time at the Harbourside...and it won't be our last! We stayed in a good sized room with a great Queen-size bed, a relaxing sitting area, and a lovely view of the Harbor. The hotel is close enough to easily walk to the heart of Victoria but far enough away to avoid the noise and crowds. Only some minor problems- a broken treadmill in the fitness room and a snippy front desk clerk were irksome but didn't mar the trip.
