Our stay at the Chateau Victoria was overall very good. The check in process was quick and easy. At first glance, our room was quite nice having the looks of being recently updated. We were on the second floor (room 204 to be exact). Everything was great until it was time to go to sleep. The room was equipped with black out blinds, but the room is located right above the main entrance and with that came a million bright lights. My family and I could hardly sleep due to the amount of light that was coming into the room. The next day I went to the lobby to ask to switch rooms and a fellow hotel guest mentioned they had stayed in that room a few weeks prior and had the same sleepless experience. The hotel staff was more than happy to get us a different room and were apologetic about the space. Something needs to be done about that room though! Aside from that, the pool and hot tub were great, rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. I had a few issues connecting with the chromecast on the tv’s, but that was most likely user error and not the tv’s fault. This hotel is in a great location as we were no more than a 10 minute walk to all of the shopping, restaurants, and the inner harbour. We would stay here again, just as long as we weren’t in one of the lit up rooms.

The hotel's location was very convenient to both downtown area, Chinatown, and Black Ball Ferry terminal. We took the ferry from Port Angeles so the walk was very easy. One of our preferences was quietness of the hotel. We didn't hear any noise at night. Our room was right in front of the 4 elevators, but due to our room's layout, there were no noise from guests or the elevators. The hotel also has a free local shuttle. The driver was kind to take us to the hotel from the ferry terminal upon arrival when they happened to be dropping off their customers. Our room was a suite and came with 2 bedrooms. There was only one portable ac unit so it would have been to hot to sleep in the second room if there were more people with us. We really enjoyed their reakfast buffet on the top floor. It was only summer time. The view from the restaurant & bar on the top floor was nice. The snack options at the bar was not our favorite but we enjoyed our time there. We will definitely stay there again!

Great location and our 1 bedroom suite was spacious. Pool was nice and large with room for several groups to use at once. Lobby waiting area is lovely. Our room didn't have central air, just a window unit in the main living area, so the bedroom was quite warm at night (we visited mid-August). Obviously this is only an issue in the summer but did impact our experience a bit. Overall, a good choice if you're spending some time in downtown Victoria and want to be able to walk to the harbour and lots of restaurants.

The room was very average. The view from our window was a wall from a neighbouring building. Nothing to look at. There was a lot of noise from the street during the evening/night as well as the squacky sea gulls in the early hours of the morning. There was no deca coffee in the room and no creamers, only coffee mate powder. We were only there one night or I would have asked to be switched to another room. The staff were friendly. I have stayed at the Chateau branded hotels before and was never disappointed. I don't feel that this hotel was worth the amount we payed to stay there.
