It was worth it!

This was my wife and I first time visiting Canada and we were happy that we stayed at amethyst inn. First off the house and room itself was clean and well kept but just a little dated. Which is to be expected from a house with a lot of history. The staff(Racheal and Serena) were extremely nice and helpful. The best experience was definitely the breakfast! It was a three course meal and the options changed everyday. My wife, who can’t have dairy or potato, was able eat everything they brought out since they were very adamant about allergies. She was thrilled!! Lastly, the hotel is 25 mins east of downtown which wasn’t all that bad to walk. The surrounding area was nice. We didn’t feel unsafe at all walking around. We made a lot of memories and had a great time! We will definitely visit again. :)

Breakfast was absolutely delicious, rooms are cozy and clean, staff was there was when you need them (like a secret ninja, she was right where we needed her when we had a question and never seen the rest of the time). Loved the historical home, architecture and repurpose of the residence. Food was outstanding. A couple of things in the room could use a change though...the chairs are very uncomfortable and low to the ground....not good for tall folks with back problems. The night stand lights are quaint but falling apart. The bed was very comfortable. The new bathroom was great as well. I will be back with my wife next trip.
These lights on the stair rail are very unique and we have done research on them as we have one on our home. Great to see 2 of them by the same artist.

Staff - manager and owner were very pleasant and helpful during stay. Room was clean and quiet except the bed which was very creaky and noisy with just simple movement in and out of bed and not terrible comfortable (needs a memory foam topper). Breakfast was delicious and with little notice was able to be served earlier than normal to accommodate our schedule. Generally very happy with stay although would prefer a more comfortable quieter bed to get a better sleep.

Breakfast and service were lovely but the room really needed a deep clean. Curtains were very very dusty (visibly) and some items needed repair or updating (broken shade on lamp). Little things. I love a Victorian bnb but keeping it clean and in good repair is so important.
