For a hotel like Fairmont, I expected much better. On the corridors I saw used food plates with leftover food lying for days. It came to a point that I can smell. I had to go to front desk and ask them to clean. Well !! they picked them, and again next day another room left their used food outside, which was not picked in 12 hrs.

It's always a treat to stay at the Empress. Our family spent a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend here and everything was lovely, from the warm staff to the spacious suite. The pool was a big hit with the kids and the high tea is as delightful as always. Another lovely escape and we look forward to our return.

The hotel is beautiful, and it could be that due to the marathon the hotel was overly busy and unable to meet all demands, but I ran into issues with room service (my breakfast was 30 minutes late meaning no time to eat before heading to the marathon and I could not reach in room dining by phone) and parking (my truck does not fit in the underground lot so I was forced to pay for valet pricing which left my car in the front loop all day, and they were very busy and hard to find at times). The front staff did address these issues for me upon check out, but it was frustrating given the price paid. I recommend indicating on your website that self serve parking has a height limit of 6’3”. That aside, the room was very comfortable, lovely bed, with plenty of space for my belongings.

This beautifully restored old hotel wreaks with class! Exceptional staff from the desk clerk to the bartenders. Friendly, courteous and readily available to you. The dining that I did experience was outstanding as well. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
