The breakfast was a wide range of choices and a long range of time that it was available It was fairly close to the Hollywood amphitheater

The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful but I was disappointed that there was no shuttle service to the airport. I should have verified before staying though. I would not have stayed at this hotel had I known that there was a lack of shuttle service. The furniture in the breakfast area was outdated and the walls are so thin that you can literally hear the person in the next room talk. I could also feel them getting into and out of bed.

When you check in the first statement the front desk says is we don’t do daily housekeeping while you stay, let us know if you need anything, but the rooms don’t have phones to call the front desk. The room wasn’t properly cleaned, Kuerig had an orange liquid in it, bedding stained, night table had a sticky residue. As you walk into the room the first thing you see is a coat hanger holding the curtains together. Clearly housekeeping is overloaded and nobody oversees them. The front desk staff stay in the back and only come out when you wait at the front desk, they are not rude just not welcoming. The one time I tried to get coffee both pots were empty, I didn’t eat the breakfast because I was so turned off by the room conditions I didn’t trust the prep. I took pictures of the conditions.

We do have a full renovation that will be starting this year. I do apologize about some of the cleanliness issues and will be addressing them with the hotel because even though we know we have to be renovated we should still be clean. We could not stay here. Holiday Inn Express did not have our booking. I do not know if the fault was Travelocity or HIE but when we arrived the unhelpful hotel clerk told us our confirmation number did not work and we had not room. We called Travelocity and CJ tried to correct the booking but could not and he was not given any assistance from the Hotel clerk. CJ told us to find our own accommodations. We told him "No you have our money you find us a room, book and confirm it before we drive around the city. He was able to find a room. It cost us and additional $200. CJ say Travelocity and HIE will try to reach a refund resolution in 10 days. I cannot recommend this property.

So I will say right off , staff was friendly and helpful. The reason I rated the way I did was at checking I provided my name and no one checked my id. Simply gave me room keys. Then, I went out to a local concert and came back (lots of folks from concert staying at hotel). My key didn’t work. I walked up to another front desk person and indicated my key wasn’t working. She asked my room number and rekeyed my card without asking my name or for identification. A little unnerving!
