Hip hotel with a few cons near Universal

Hip place to stay for sure. I love that they give you a $15 credit for food per overnight stay. If you need to extend your stay last minute they’ll happily accommodate you. If there are any issues they’ll also promptly rectify them. Location is in a very busy area but close to Universal. Bed is super comfortable and room is clean! Parking per night is $35 which is a bit steep for those on a budget, JUST FYI. There is also construction going on and dehumidifiers everywhere but they do not affect your stay at all! The only issues I have had are very minor: 1. There was loud music with bass that reverberated thru my room on the first night (couldn’t figure out where it was coming from) but the person at the front desk helped without issue. 2. There was mold on some of my bathroom towels (I was given new towels). 3. The bathroom has a scent of cat urine but it comes and goes (unsure if it is mold related). I’m allergic to mold but haven’t had any allergic reactions thus far but have taken Zyrtec throughout stay. 4. The door to the a/c closet in my room kept rattling so I had to put a chair up against it to keep it from rattling. 5. The far right side of the blackout curtains do not adhere to the wall as the sticky part needs to replaced, so there is light coming in. 6. The candy bar isn’t fully stocked. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! I do recommend this hotel, but bring earplugs, a sound machine, and an eye mask just in case! :)

I arrived for a 3 night stay….when I arrived Thursday, they notified me that the a/c was out and they were doing renovations. However, I never received an email previously or even the day of stating this. It eventually came on at 2am Friday morning. However, the trip was amazing overall. I went to universal Saturday and even though it rained quite a bit, personally it was a really good day! And I love Hotel Landy! Definitely recommend!

staff was phenomenal from the moment we walked in until we checked out… but we unfortunately had a horrible horrible experience. we went up into our first room, there was a man laying in our bed.. we went to the front desk and explained what happened, they switched us to the second room.. when we got there and it wasn’t the same as we requested.. went back down and requested another room and when we got there, the bathroom was filthy.. went back down and complained.. they said someone would come up to clean for us (mind you this was already at midnight) we waiting for over an hour and no one came….

Good breakfast options, comfy rooms, bathrooms a bit small but decent enough! Requested a microwave to get brought up a dirty and greasy microwave on the inside and the revolving plate didn’t even fit correctly, but we were still able to use it for our left overs after cleaning it a bit. Room phone was broken so when the engineer came up he couldn’t fix it, I had to call the front desk from my cellphone and it wasn’t a necessity to have it working it was just a bit of extra work to get someone on the phone. They could have switched it from an empty room instead of just leaving the dead phone plugged in. Walls are pretty thin I heard my neighbors and people outside very clearly in the middle of the night more times that not. Other wise I would say it was still an ok hotel to stay in and it was so close to universal it made it super easy and super cheap Ubers to and from!

Very nice property. The only negative I can say is the nightly parking fee of $35 plus daily destination fee of $15 added to the nightly costs adds $54.72 to your daily room charge... I’ve never seen a destination fee added every single day of your stay.
