Still in the holiday spirit? It’s not too late to celebrate! We’ve partnered with lifestyle blogger Pattie Cordova from Living Mi Vida Loca to discover the best theme parks in Southern California to enjoy the magic of the season. I gotta admit, we’re a bit spoiled around here in Southern California when it comes to theme […]
I’ve never had a knack for romanticism. Or gift giving. Or even delivering well-timed compliments. For me, Valentine’s Day may as well be called “the day before the week that I can buy really cheap candy.” But for those who have neither a date nor a taste for drugstore chocolate, Valentine’s Day can be a bit of a stress-fest. That’s why I’m renaming the 15th of February “roller coaster therapy day.”
If you think about it, it’s a perfect post V-Day solution. Instead of the ups and downs of a long-term relationship, you get the twists and turns of a 70mph roller coaster ride. Butterflies in your stomach? Sweaty palms? Yep. It’s like all the adrenaline of a first kiss plotted out over 4,000 feet of track. And in the sunny states of California and Florida, you can find great thrills even in February. Here are a few of my favorites:
It is a rite of passage to visit Disney theme parks in the United States. As a timeless and exciting venture, families (and plenty of grown-ups) love the whole package Disney presents for a memorable vacation. In Orlando, you can find the sprawling Walt Disney World (WDW) complex, full of familiar, friendly faces that welcome […]
Welcome to Orange County -- the land of beaches and theme parks. It's a place where you live like there's no tomorrow, because today is so good. And whether you're exploring Disneyland, chilling at Huntington Beach, or sleeping at one of the fancy 5 star hotels in Orange County, you're going to be feeling good. Ride the wave - - literally and figuratively, and you'll go home with a treasure chest full of pleasant memories.
After setting in at one of the hotels in Orange County, Start by digging your toes in any one of the beaches located here, like Aliso Beach or Salt Creek Beach Park. Swim, surf, enjoy the sunset and sunbathe; there are few places in the world as relaxing. If you're into things like fishing and whale watching, you can find those activities at Dana Wharf; be sure to stop by the Ocean Institute if you come here. For spectacular views, ascend to Top of the World in Laguna Beach. For a cool lesson in military flying, visit the Flightdeck Air Combat Center in Anaheim. Sights like Mission San Juan Capistrano (the county's only Mission) are also worth seeing. And if you wish to get your shopping on at some point, head to Costa Mesa and indulge at the South Coast Mall. When it comes time to refuel, there's plenty of food and drink.
Sample all sorts of global cuisines at the Irvine Spectrum, or head to Little Saigon for some of the best Vietnamese food outside Vietnam. Other cuisines, such as Korean, Japanese, French and Cuban, are quite popular with locals, as is classic American fare. When it comes time to party, look no further beach cities like Newport Beach and San Clemente, as well as areas near universities in Fullerton and Irvine.
This region is a traveler's playground, so start planning early. You can find deals on the best Orange County hotels or nab cheap hotels in Orange County on Travelocity. Even if you want hotels near John Wayne Airport, you can find it here. Travelocity also pledges to match any lower price you find and refund the difference.

Need to get updated. It’s old. Bathroom is not good. Water is not draining fast
Overall the facility is cute and cleanly. Each room has a mini fridge which is appreciated. The bar/ restaurant has a great happy hour each day from 3-6 pm. It is also nice to have a shuttle service running so frequently. My one complaint is the heating and cooling of the rooms. I stayed at this hotel during my last trip to Disneyland and had to move rooms because of it. It takes a long time to get cool in the room and often does not make it below 69 degrees. This trip the weather was much cooler so the room temperature seemed to be cooler however last trip was warmer and the room was always very warm.
Great location, liked the kitchenette (sink and plates and silverware), spacious family room!
