We checked in for Balloon Fiesta weekend and expected the hotel to be ready for the busy event, but it felt understaffed. Valet service was slow — there seemed to be only one person working the whole time, which made pulling up to the hotel difficult. The valet attendant himself was great though — super kind, professional, and clearly doing his best.
Check-in was quick, but when we got to our room (1022), there was a strong smell of mold and urine. I tried calling the front desk several times for a room change, but no one answered. About 30 minutes later, the manager texted me back, apologized, and said the hotel was fully booked. They promised housekeeping would come by the next morning.
When we returned from the Balloon Fiesta around noon the next day, the room still wasn’t cleaned. The manager said housekeeping was busy, which I understood, but I hoped our room would’ve been prioritized after the night before. When the room was finally serviced, used toiletries weren’t replaced, the TV kept glitching, and the curtains were hard to close.
This hotel really needs updates and more staff, especially for a big weekend like this. I feel bad leaving a negative review since it’s an independent property, but this was one of the more disappointing stays I’ve had.
