Hotel Zazz is trying really hard. The fun extras - the popsicles, speakeasy bar, and cute decor are a fabulous touch. And the staff was fabulous. I hope it can remain a lower priced option. It was a good deal for the price point we paid (mid-week, no special events) but lacks a few things. The bathrooms weren’t quite as clean as I would’ve hoped and the beds weren’t super comfy and the pool Was a bit murky. That being said, it’s a fun experience. I hope they will continue to make improvements and keep their prices reasonable and in line with the experience.

The property itself was fine, the texts we received as we approached the checkin date were helpful. It seemed like the door codes for the Rehydration Station and Pool Area changed daily, and that made it confusing and difficult to get water. Everyone speaks about customer service, but when they really need to provide some they seem to not quite understand the meaning. As we packed the car to leave in the dark at about 5 in the morning, we left a backpack behind. Yes our fault. When we realized it I called immediately. Yes the backpack was still sitting in the parking lot, and interestingly the girl at the front desk saw it on her way in and didn't think to bring it in. When I asked if it could be shipped back to me at my expense, I was told she had to check and she would call me back. That didn't happen so I called back. She told me that she had spoken to her Boss and the only way they would ship it back was if I provided the box and a label. Really, you didn't have a box lying around? So here I am, hundreds of miles away at this point. Customer Service would have been if you helped me out and shipped the backpack, AT MY EXPENSE. We won't be back.

Clearly a very old motel they tried to "cutesy" up. But still looked very old -- especially in and around the shower. Staff uninformed about taxis and directions. One knew nothing about the former and couldn't arrange one -- so I did it myself. The other sent me the wrong direction. Noise control a real issue when they were busier. Last night I was there, I had a very early morning, and movies and noise outside lasted to almost midnight. Then young people sat on my curb making lots of noise - noone in office to call about it, so I went out and asked them to be quiet. Then about 3 a.m. banging and much noise from the room above me. (And I am a very heavy sleeper - rarely hear anything.) Rooms just not adequately soundproofed. Air conditioning worked but very noisy too. I would not stay here again.

I was really looking forward to this hotel. The hotel itself was super cute and I love the business model. I left a little disappointed though because of a few things. One was when we checked in, we were given a room, but when we went to drop off our bags, the room already had people in it. A little unnerving, cause we walked in before we saw someone else's luggage. We got a new room, but the art wasn't as cool as that first room. The Popsicle happy hour was a bust. Got there shortly after it started and none where there. That wasn't a big deal but a little disappointing. Lastly the speakeasy left me feeling uneasy. The lobby was locked during business hours without instructions to get into the speakeasy. This lead to misunderstanding with the bartender who got a little mean. This too got resolved and amends were made, but being the bystander to this (not the person who had the confrontation) it just made me sad. I think if it would have just been one of these things, I would have been happier, but all three together was a little much. I would say the rooms are clean, and the bed is super comfy. I think I would definitely give the hotel another chance. Maybe it was just a really off day for them. It is super cute and I love women owned small business.

The room was cozy, but the floor hadn’t been swept or mopped in a while, and the carpet was a bit dusty. There were also some particles and hair all over the place. Under the bathroom door, since it’s low to the ground, it caught a lot of dirt and debris. There was even a hairball and other stuff under it! The pool was also murky and didn’t look clean. I was a bit disappointed because I spent almost $400 for two nights. I think it could be a great place if the cleaning was better. It had a really cool background story, and I hope they can improve the cleanliness part. I’d definitely be back if they do!

This was a trendy property with a unique vision, but we were very disappointed with the lack of communication for basic needs (rooms are not cleaned daily, parking is impossible after 8pm because of the bar, yet we pay $12 a night, etc…) We stayed 5 days and our room was cleaned ONCE. I was told I was texted this information, yet their wifi lacks reliability. Be aware that you are strictly rationed 1.5 towels per person, and exactly one teabag, one coffee pod and one creamer per person. I really wanted to love this experience and the emphasis on supporting local artists, but it’s clear management is cutting corners to save money and their staff is doing their best to manage the rules. Putting responsibility on paying customers is modern, but it’s just being cheap and that sadly ruins the experience.
