Nice, Clean and Convenient

A very nice hotel with a clean lobby, clean rooms and nice amenities. My one issue was the lack of a microwave and the lack of electrical outlets in the room. It made ironing a bit tricky. Otherwise this is a great place to stay and close to a lot of eateries, shops and spots around town.

Convenient locale, helpful staff

Pros: Location and price
Cons: Lamps in room could have been brighter. Juice with the simple breakfast would have been welcome since I don't drink coffee or tea.
It was a good landing place for the price. Major Subway stop, 23rd St., is across the street. The neighborhood offered a range of eating options in the commercial portion and tree-lined residential streets for a pleasant walk around the block. Staff was responsive to all questions about moving around the city. Room was plain but completely clean. My room looked out on the bleak service well but that meant no street noise.

Nice hotel. Good location.

Hotel is in a good location right by the subway stop. It was reasonably priced for a two-bed room in NYC. I was staying with a friend and we each wanted our own bed. That can get pricey in NYC. They need to light their sign a bit better at night so it's easier to locate the hotel. No other complaints. Recommended.

Comfortable hotel in a good location

The receptionists were friendly and helpful and both check in and check out was very easy. We were happily surprised with the size of the room: it was bigger than we had expected. The hotel building is not new but it has been updated and was very clean. The hotel is well located walking distance to many tourist attractions and very close to three subway lines. Breakfast could be imporved however it was complimentary which is quite unusual in New York. I would return to the hotel.

This hotel room was clean and I felt relatively safe for staying in NYC! The staff was courteous and the hotel was close to great coffee shops and a comedy club a few doors away. I would recommend this, except it was a bit pricey, I think, for the hotel I made reservations several weeks in advance because an out of town friend was staying here. There are apps that provide lower rates for higher priced hotels, but one cannot make reservations for a specific hotel, only what is available that week.

Under-Promising and Over Delivering!

Pros: Coming home to a room that was clean and that I didn't have to slide into to rest my body and mind for the next day. 15 minutes door to Times Square.
Cons: The only thing I didn't care for was the continental breakfast It was adequate not awesome With all of the food options nearby, I only ate it once.
Location: There were four Dunkin' Donuts, The Doughnut Plant as well as the Chelsea Deli and Bakery and the Chelsea Papaya. It is very close to 2 Subway lines.
I know it isn't the hotel's intention to under-promise and over-deliver, but when reading the reviews, I expected less than I got. I travel to NYC once to twice a year. I know from experience that I don't spend much time in my room. It is a place to sleep and shower. This time was no different, business kept me at the studio late into the evening each night. Before arriving, I called the hotel to ask if I could have a tripod shipped to them, as it would not have arrived here in time for me to take it with me. The front desk checked my reservation and accepted my tripod. Upon arrival, which is very close to two major subway stations, I was greeted by a smile and a smooth and easy check-in. I got to my room and the first thing I did was a bed-bug check. Very clean. Smelled nice. I unloaded my gear and clothes and used the iron in the room to get rid of some wrinkles from the trip. It was immediately evident that I got more room than I had paid for. In past trips to NYC, the rooms at the rate I was paying were more like closets. This was a room, with room. If you like Dunkin' Donuts, there are four within the two block area. There are many other places to grab a bite as well. The Doughnut Plant a few doors west made awesome doughnuts, well worth their NYC prices. I also ate breakfast at the Chelsea Deli and Bakery and the Chelsea Papaya. I will definitely stay at the Chelsea Savoy on future trips. For the money, I haven't found a better value in the City yet.

Perfect NYC hotel

Pros: Everything but especially location!
Location: Chelsea Papaya has good coffee and is open 24 hours. Wrapidos has awesome wraps. Most everything in midtown and below is easily accessible.
The Chelsea Savoy was perfect for our 7 night stay in New York. The location is amazing--very close to the subway and many local shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and flexible. The rooms were updated and very spacious by NY standards. The lobby and breakfast areas were very nice. The free breakfast of coffee and muffins was wonderful. But I can't say enough about the location. We felt like locals since we weren't in Times Square (there were many apartments, local shops, corner sandwich places and not a TON of tourists like Times Square), but all NYC main attractions were within walking distance or an easy subway ride. We will definitely stay here again for future visits to the city.

Small hotel, good rates, near attractions.

Pros: Value
Cons: More variety in breakfast menu.
Location: Near FIT, go uptown or downtown easily. Walking distance to the Highline.
The hotel room was clean and neat. Small, but had everything needed. Nice rates for the central location in Manhattan. Subway stop was steps away. Continental breakfast satisfactory, but always the same.

A good find.

Pros: its location and its quiet
The Chelsea Savoy is in a good location - far enough away from the madness of midtown, yet conveniently located near subway lines to travel quickly within the city. The hotel is most adequate and clean. It is also very quiet with a friendly staff.
