Spring Break 2018!

We came to Minnesota to visit the Mall of America and it was great! The best part was our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. The staff was awesome!! They were very friendly and gave great food recommendations. The breakfast buffet was pretty great too, we enjoyed everything they offered.

Serviceable room, expensive parking

Pros: Keurig coffee cups and a keurig in the room.
Cons: Better communicate that you charge valet parking of $25 a night with no other option and that you do not validate. Maybe put up a sign.
Location: The hotel is located right next to the highway off/on ramp. Its a long walk to the downtown mall and the light rail
Parking is $25 a night. But I didn't know that til I got the bill due to poor communication by staff. You have to use their valet for $25 (self-parking is not allowed). At first I gave my car to the valet and then while checking in, I asked if they validate? The front desk said "give us your valet ticket". So I did. She typed in the number and then gave it back to me. I assumed that meant validated. Nope. I stayed two nights and when I woke up on the morning I was going to check out, there was a bill slid underneath my room door for $77 - 3 charges of $25 plus tax - charged to my card. I took it down to the front desk and asked why I was charged. The same woman who checked me in said they do not validate (she could of said that when I checked in....) and that it was $25 a night (I wouldn't have booked if I knew that). I asked why I was charged 3 times and she said "whoops, that wasn't supposed to happen and credited me $25. Also, because I used my bank card, they withdrew another $50 transaction from my account as a "preauthorized hold" which did not release when the TWO transactions of $25 apiece came through. I had to call my bank to release it. The room was clean-ish but old and slightly run down with what looked like old burns on the carpet. Other than that, it was fine. If you don't have a car, I guess it is fine. Also, it is a bit of a walk (10-15 minutes) to the nearest light-rail station and to the mall downtown. The hotel is right next to the highway.

Dear Matt, I'm glad you enjoyed the Keurig machine in the room. I also completely understand your frustration about the improper charging for your valet expense. We do offer a self park option, but it is in a lot that is down the street, and not a very attractive option for guests. But regardless, you should have been informed of this. Guest satisfaction is our number one priority, and we hope that you will consider staying with us in the future, and be able to utilize that option. You can count on us! Sincerely, Sylwia Oak Director of Operations

Wonderful Surprise

We enjoyed our staff. We were in town for a work conference. The staff was beyond helpful and cheery! The food was surprisingly good! Breakfast is a bit over priced, but lunch was reasonable.

Nice hotel, downtown

Perfect location, good price, great service, and very comfortable and clean. My two year old was feeling under the weather, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
