Unexpected fees

I was unable to check into my hotel due to an incorrect price listed on Hotels.com. I was charged $324.18, plus a Booking Protection fee, for a two-night stay at the Hampton Inn on Tiedeman. However, upon arrival, I was informed that an additional $100 incidental fee ($50 per night) was required. While I understand the purpose of an incidental fee, I believe I should have been made aware of this charge before the day of my stay to avoid any unexpected financial obligations.

We stayed for a weekend and went to the football game on Sunday! We really liked that it was out of town just far enough! There is some nice restaurants around the hotel and my wife loved walking to Starbucks in the morning!
