A portable electric heater is accessible all year as well as the ac/heat wall minisplit unit. A propane flame heater in the kitchen, also warms the entire cottage, turned on seasonally from October 1st through May 1st.
Outside there is a fire pit (we provide firewood, lighter fluid and a lighter), a propane grill and plenty of lounging space! Eggs are provided seasonally when chickens are laying (they don't lay a lot in colder weather), mints, water, tea, ground coffee & popcorn to get you started.
Our dogs are always in a pen with the animals or on a leash, but we are a rural farm community and other dogs do visit our listings and property. They are very friendly towards humans and animals, but if you are unsure of how your pet will react, please keep them on a leash. I’m sorry we don’t accept cats. Don’t forget to add your pets underneath the number of humans coming (number of Adults, Children, Infants and then Pets is that order).
We have $25 pet fee (one time fee only, not per pet). NO CATS PLEASE! The $25 pet fee will be added to your reservation at the time of booking.
IMPORTANT: Winter storms leave ice and snow on our mountain roads. When this happens we will do everything we can to accommodate your safe arrival and departure.
Normally roads are plowed and salted by the county within 24 hours (often much sooner). Normally roads are plowed and salted by the county within 24 hours (often much sooner).
When winter storm warnings occur we recommend parking your car at the top of the driveway by the road prior to the event. We do this and so do most of the locals.
Our guests are our top priority. When winter storms happen we will be available to assist you in all your needs.
We will also salt the porch/steps for your safety, but bear in mind this does not always keep ice from accumulating, please be careful when walking on the porches and steps during freezing temperatures and precipitation.
