Were it not for the parking area, this would have been the best overall experience I’ve ever had! However—- when I arrived it was dark out, so I couldn’t see the deep drop at the top of the parking spot I pulled into. It’s about a foot high, so when pulled in my front two tires went down into the dirt behind the blacktop. Fortunately I was able to maneuver it enough to be able to back it up & drive the next day, but if someone’s car ever gets damaged, the property will have to pay out a whole lot more money than it would cost to put in concrete curb barriers. P.S. everyone there was very nice, but Virginia in particular was outstanding. I’m

Off the beaten path but accessible to restaurants, etc. (although not within walking distance). Very clean facility and we had a pretty view of Cape Fear. Nice outside sitting area and pool (although too cold during our trip)

The staff were super friendly and the room was spotless. We arrived late and the office staff had made sure I understood how to access my room keys and where I was going prior to arrival. The views were spectacular and relaxing. Absolutely amazing stay; even canceled a different reservation at another hotel in leu of staying here again.

Room without a view
Mine was a 15-hour stay; easy and convenient. I had hoped to enjoy the view of the river, but with cold temps (didn't venture onto balcony) and the arrangement of the furniture, the only view possible was while standing next to the window. I little disappointing.
