Wonderful rooms and public decor. Very clean. Nice breakfast room, though the food was rather ordinary in such a promising display. Wine and cheese a nice touch. Would recommend Brookstown Inn to all. jAnd I can't wait to return. Just wish the front desk staff would smile .

Wonderful historic location next to the Winston-Salem Visitor's Center. Room and bathroom were spacious and immaculately clean. Buffet breakfast was hot, delicious, and filling. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

stayed recently for a wedding

This hotel is immaculate and the staff is very friendly. We stayed with our twin two year olds and probably wouldn't recommend this hotel to people traveling with small, energetic kids. There is a lot of beautiful exposed brick, which was more of a safety hazard for our less than graceful son. Also, the walls are on the thinner side, so I was worried the kids' noise would disturb others.

Great stay at the lovely Brookstown Inn

Pros: Beautiful historic hotel, nice amenities, wonderful staff.
Cons: Room was slightly musty; however, they put a dehumidifier in my room to help control the moisture.
Location: Great location, hotel has ample parking, great restaurants within walking distance. Nice quiet area.
I was in Winston-Salem for a conference and stayed 3 nights in a suite at the Brookstown Inn. The room was very comfortable, and roomy - wonderfully high ceilings made the room feel even more spacious. The room included a sunken living room with flat screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. The main level overlooks the living room area, and includes the bedroom and bathroom. The queen size bed was very comfortable - nice fluffy pillows, and soft white linens. They offer a southern breakfast every morning, cheese and wine with live music around dinner time, and milk and cookies in the evening. I didn't get a chance to have the milk and cookies, but the cheese and wine social and the breakfasts were a very nice. The location is in downtown Winston-Salem, and there are restaurants in walking distance. We enjoyed a wonderful Mexican dinner at Senor Bravo directly across the street. The staff were all very nice and super accommodating. My concierge Aaron made my stay just perfect. Would highly recommend!

Something Different

I travel frequently for business and this was a pleasant change from the run of the mill. I got an excellent rate, probably because I booked late. First thing I enjoyed was having some cheese with my wine (free) while listening to a jazz band in the hospitality room. Then I got free milk and cookies before bed. The room was very large (the tv looked like a 24" from my bed) but quaintly decorated. It was quiet and I slept well. The breakfast was standard hotel fare. The staff allowed me to leave my suitcase behind the desk and my vehicle in the parking lot for the day while I attended meetings even though I had checked out. Overall a nice place. I would stay there again.
