"Stay at Red Roof Inn in Downers' Grove, Il 4/2016"
Stayed in the Red Roof Inn at Downers' Grove 4/16/2016 to 4/18/2016 I found the room to be clean, roomy and comfortable. Would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room, but that was a minor detail. Also, the motel is a bit tricky to get into, but again, the main thing I look for in a motel is for it to be easy to find, relatively easy to get into, clean, comfortable, and safe. The motel met my expectations there. I would recommend it to others.

"Better than expected"
This hotel exceeded our expectations: the room was big, clean, and in almost new condition; had a very nice breakfast with many choices (bacon, egg, sausage was offered each morning, I had no problems getting waffles even when there were hardly any tables empty, oatmeal, pastries, fruits, hard boiled eggs, bagels etc.) The staff was very helpful and kind. The location of the hotel was convenient: Willis Tower is the closest sight, about 4 minutes away. This is also where one can get on the Hop-On Hop-Off bus. Rentable bikes are even closer. Michigan Avenue is in walking distance (10 min) as is the Beam. The Navy Pier is a little farther but we still walked there. Trump Tower is about 12 minutes away. Many restaurants around there. The only one thing that we would have liked to see: minibar in the fridge. We had a fridge, coffee station & a microwave but nothing in the fridge.

    Chicago Pet Friendly Hotel Guide

“Dogs are not our whole life,” Roger Caras once said, “but they make our lives whole.”

Your beloved pet isn’t just your sidekick, he’s a member of the family. Where you go, he goes; he is your steadfast companion, loyal until the end. Why, then, would you opt to deposit him in a kennel, or ask relatives to walk him twice a day while you travel the world? Why not bring him with you?

Chicago, with its sparkling shoreline and vast thoroughfares, is an ideal place for you and your furry companion, whether you’re visiting for just a few days or intend a long-term trip. Traveler, start researching: Travelocity’s pet-friendly hotels in Chicago are here to help light the way.

Where in Chicago is Wrigley Field located?

Wrigley Field is located at 1060 W. Addison Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60613. It’s just a few blocks from Belmont Harbor and the Lake Michigan waterfront. Restaurants within walking distance include:

    • Deuces and the Diamond Club
    • Sluggers World-Class Sports Bar
    • Rockit Burger Bar

Some of these restaurants may welcome dogs on patios; call ahead to confirm.

Wrigley Field is near several Chicago pet-friendly hotels, among them Kinzie Hotel, located just a block from the Chicago River. Your fuzzy friend will want for nothing at the Kinzie; everything from dog beds to treats just for your buddy will put him (and you) right at ease. As always, call the hotel ahead of time to make proper arrangements and learn about any potential weight or breed limits.

Should I rent a car in Chicago?

If you’re staying in the downtown area, you likely do not need to rent a car. You can reach many places on foot, and Chicago has excellent public transportation. If you intend to explore the area out of the city, or are perhaps considering a road trip around Lake Michigan, then yes, you should rent a car. Consider how many people will be with you; if you are bringing your pet along, you will want to contact the car rental company prior to reserving a vehicle and learn what sort of restrictions, if any, are included. Decide ahead of time whether you want features such as GPS, satellite radio, and more, as vehicles with these options may book up quickly.

How often have you embarked on a vacation, only to quietly mourn the drooping tail and sad face of the best friend you’ve left behind? Travelocity’s growing list of dog-friendly hotels in Chicago ensures you don’t need to abandon a member of the family next time you visit Illinois. We’ll help you book rooms in venues like the Write Inn Hotel, a boutique establishment that will make you feel at home while it charms you. Dogs are permitted—within weight and breed restrictions—and the hotel is located near the Thatcher Woods. Hundreds of acres of forested land are just waiting for you and your furry friend to come explore.

Why leave him behind any longer? Go forth. Dream. Discover. Thanks to Travelocity, your beloved pet can make your vacation whole, too.
