Nice Location - But...

Pros: Location and reasonable rates
Cons: Add a hot tub in pool area.
Location: Great location. Great view of the lake and pier. Walking distance to Navy Pier and to Michigan Ave. Short Uber rides to other area attractions.
We enjoyed staying at the W Chicago Lakeshore and were treated very well by the staff. We were even able to check in two hours early. But to be honest, if we had known there was no hot tub, we would have gone elsewhere. My husband has back issues and would have loved to relax in a hot tub after our daily excursions. Also, the hotel bar (the Living Room) is very nice but drinks are quite spendy; which you expect in a hotel bar but a whole $5.00 more than nearby bars and restaurants seemed steep to us. Also would have liked a fridge in the room and not have to pay extra for it.

Alex- to the rescue!

Pros: Staff and View, of course.
Cons: Cleaning staff must focus on details such as mirrors and glass windows.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Let's start with our arrival, as we checked in Alex was so kind & informative. The next day we happen to run into Lady Barbara (we also meet her as we checked in) by the bar, I asked her about the city- she knew everything, so informative, not once shy about telling us about "happening" places there in Chicago. -Super great experience at this Hotel & Chicago!

Great place for Exploring Chicago

The W Chicago Lakeshore is a smartly designed, sleek hotel befitting an architecturally beautiful city. It is well located near the Navy Pierre, but you can walk a few blocks to Michigan Avenue and then access great areas in both directions. Go one way, you get to Millennium Park; go the other way, you get to the Historic Water Tower, John Hancock and the Gold Coast. There is to say to do and it is worth it to get a City pass or a Go pass. The concierge at the W is very helpful making dinner reservations, and suggesting good restaurants. Mastro's Steak House is a must. The hotel has a lot of amenities, but you.must ask for a fridge and coffee maker if you want one. The pool and gym are excellent, and it also has a Bliss spa, which we did not use.

Location to Lake was nice

When we first checked in Saturday at about 10:30 it was like a disco was going on in the lobby area loud music I could barely hear the check-in staff over the noise. The security staff was rude to me said I was in a restricted area and it was not marked restricted at all.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location!

Pros: The view, the staff, the convenience of location!
Cons: The toilet needs fixed, not just patched.
Location: On Lakeshore Drive, across from the beach! Very close to the Navy Pier, shopping and restaurants!
The hotel was very impressive! The staff was very friendly and helpful! It was a perfect location; close to everything we needed! We had a beautiful view from our window! We could see Lake Michigan, with the boats and skiers, the beach and Navy Pier; including the fireworks! The only problem we had was the toilet. They had to come plunger it when we firtst got there. Someone before had turned off the water to it because when you turned on the water, it just overflowed. They fixed that. Later that same day, they had to come use the snake on it. From thereon, we just had to baby it to keep it from clogging again. One minor setback in an otherwise perfect hotel!!
