Viceroy Chicago was in a great location with an even greater view. I woke up every morning to a beautiful sunrise. Our room along with the hotel itself was always clean and I got some great pics! Would recommend to anyone visiting for a few days!

Unpleasant experience

I normally don't write bad reviews, but this hotel definitely deserves one. I was traveling with my infant daughter. Since we were staying in Chicago for a week, I decided to order diapers, formula, some clothes, and baby food on Amazon to be delivered to the hotel. Unbeknownst to me, the hotel charges handling fees for each package. And since Amazon delivered the order in multiple packages (basically each item in an envelope), the hotel charges a total of $125 in handling fees, basically half the cost of the Amazon order. I explained this to the front desk staff and he said he would speak to the concierge to waive the charges. I thanked him, and a few days later at checkout, I was told there were no outstanding charges. However, after I got home and checked my credit card statement, I saw the $125 charge on my credit card, so I contacted the hotel, and the concierge said the charges were valid. I am just dumbfounded, because had I known that the hotel charges such exorbitant handling fees, I would not have accepted the peanut butter or the formula shipment for $5 each. Had they been more forthright with the charges, I would have been less upset. There are many hotels in Chicago. Stay at one that's more honest. Plus, the rooms at Viceroy are very tiny.

Incredible service, chic hotel

Beautiful chic hotel. Service by staff is above and beyond from doormen to check in to concierge staff. Super friendly and eager to help. Rooms beautifully appointed.
